Brayden McNabb is really fun to watch, but he goes out of his way to hit too much, and loses position quite often.

Still no Tinordi? How can he not even have been discussed?

Tinordi is gonna have a better career than most players in the top-50.

Thank you Ms. Cleo!

Too bad these threads always turn into a "damn you for leaving my team's underrated future superstar off of your list".

I still think Campbell is overated since he was a 1st rounder. He has been very disappointing and is living off his success at the international level.

I am not a Lightning fan.

I am, however, shocked to see no mention of Bret Connolly in the top 50, or in the honourable mention list.

Is this on purpose, or did he slip through the cracks?

Does he not meet the criteria? I dont see how he couldn't and RNH could.

Interesting, especially with his supposed value on the trade board.

edit* nevermind, I see the 65 game cut off, and Connolly played 68.

What a stupid cut-off. You could argue Connoly is more prospect than RNH is...

true enough, but to be fair, Tinordi was recognized last week in a HF article as one of the top dmen in the OHL, yet Oleksiak (who ranked 6th to Tinordi's 4th in the OHL rankings) cracked the top 50...

these lists will always be purely subjective, but it would be nice to see a greater degree of consistency, especially when you're talking about articles published a few weeks apart.

Different people working on different articles. Different opinions being presented.

The Top 50 (and the Org Rankings) represent the accumulated opinions of the staff (mainly those who form the committee that does the initial rankings and the final writeups).

Most of the regular articles are more reflective of the opinion of the individual writer.

While behind the scenes, we make every effort to share information and opinion on different articles/rankings/etc (all writers had a chance to comment on the Top 50 before the final articles were released, all writers get the chance to comment on the individual Top 20s), the final call comes down to the individual (or in the case of the larger "features", the committee).

The same way people on the TSN panel had different answers for who is going to win the Conn Smythe or what team is winning the Cup or whatever the nightly Quiz questions are, we have many different contributors with many different opinions.

At times, the discussions on the staff board about some of our work are just as spirited as anything that appears here in public.
