Concerned about his inexperience and lack of knowledge in the numbers department, but the hiring process looked thorough so I am cautiously optimistic alongside the incalculable relief McGuire wasn't named.
Cribbing management ideas from Chicago would be a very, very good idea. Sticking with ideas acquired during a 20-game NHL career in the 80s and 90s, not so much.
I'm certainly ready to over-analyze and read too much in his first few moves.
Ill be happy when it is official. For now, I am tentatively optimistic.
Looking forward to the fresh start, anyone who can play 1200 games as a D in the NHL has picked up some unique skills……let’s hope the tinker bell fringe on this board don’t go after Marc Bergevin for not drafting enough soft perimeter players while with Chi-town.
His drafting history is encouraging…..hard working 2way players, that would be nice.
Would be very happy if this is the choice to be honest.
Now that it is mostly over .. the only guy I really didn't want out of the rumoured final 3 was Brisebois but once it got to the final rumoured 3-4 my preference would have been Bergevin. He was amongst my top 4-5 from the beginning.
No no no. You misunderstood. He was giving Trevor Timmins a huge compliment.
What he was saying was despite all of Gainey's & Gauthier's stupid and reckless trades where they got nothing or next to nothing back in return, we still have some pieces on the team. Why is that? The answer: Trevor Timmins is a monster! That's why.
I don't know much about Bergevin but I deff. like him over Brisebois. Glad the Habs basically turned over every rock. This is how you search for a GM!!! I'm hoping Bergevin brings in a Dudley or someone with experience to help him along. I'd actually be ecstatic if he brought in Dudley.
Now we'll see who he grabs as coach. It will be interesting to see his vision.
