Good start for the Preds, very good compared to a lot of game 2. But not perfect. Still some lapses of concentration around the defensive zone and a few plays that seemed disjointed rather than a team knowing what it is trying to do on any given play. It also looked like a few guys took a few shifts to find their legs. But there are a lot of positives to build on after the 1st, well done to the guys for responding. Keep it going for two more periods.

Also, don't think anyone responded to it the first time I asked (apologies if I missed it), but does Hornqvist (or has he ever) tried to bulk up and add more muscle mass before a season? Or work on more core strength/better balance? If so, how has that worked out for him? He loses his footing an awful lot under physical contact. If he was built like David Desharnais it would be easier to understand but he is pretty much average size for an NHLer (maybe a shade lighter) and considering the style he plays, it just strikes me as odd that he has such issues with it. Did he try it but lost his foot speed and prefers that over being more solid or is there any other reasoning behind it?

Unfortunately, when he first came into the league and was looking for a mentor, Tootoo taught him some key balance/staying on your skates exercises that he took to heart.

Seriously though, he is a bit bigger and is actually put together pretty well. Just not big. He lost his foot speed long before we ever saw him play.

Defense has been good at getting rid of rebounds, but we need to quit giving them chances.

Great stick check by Klesla to prevent a Tootoo breakaway.

Not a good look at the play, but a cross-check on OEL.

We need Halischuk.

I drink and Horny falls down. It's similar to Betty and Gerry Ford.

Criminy, Fisher!

How about this: for every stupid play you make, I'm going to kiss your wife. In other words, QUIT SUCKING.

I guess he's suppose to be the Hornqvist of the 2nd unit. That 2nd unit sucks. This is why we should have played Smith. Hali is good on the PK though. I'd put Bourque in there over Yip.

Love the glove move by Rinne on the Yandle shot. Just a nonchalant, "I'll take that, thank you." That's the Pekka Rinne I know and love.

OK it was a lot of Wilson, Wilson, Wilson. Second game and nothing. Is he even allowed on the ice?

id put bourque, spaling, and halischuk before yip. yip on the PP is like toots.. yeah they might battle a bit and stand in front of the net.... but they are still 4th liners that disrupt the flow and don't belong out there at that time.

Rinne made the save with Fisher doing everything he could to screw him up.

That's not a bad penalty for the defenseman to take. Let's see if we can actually get something going on the power play this time.
