I realize that. But with 2 chances in OT to win the game you have to at least pretend to make an attempt to score. The last one was just beyond words and had they lost this game ......
No offense guys...but do we really have to see "offseason moves I want to happen" posts in here? We just won an epic playoff game. This team is capable of winning a Cup THIS YEAR. It baffles me that some posters are thinking about next year instead of reveling in this victory and the effort put forth by the boys tonight.
You know, it's moments like this. When you've watched 95% of the games this year, and to see how far this team has come, it makes you appreciate the win so much more.

Amen. I get caught up in the speculation sometimes too, but I wish it was a rule here that any threads started about next seasons lineup will be locked until this season is over.

So I almost got kicked out of a bowling alley bar because of this game... That's how much I screamed after Gabby buried that puck. Think about that... a bowling alley... bar... Unbelievable ending. Can't wait for Monday now. Who wants to meet at Stout for some pre-game beers?
Oh, and I shot a 722 tonight to go with it. WHOOOOO!!! Not my best of the year, but I'll certainly take it.
I was at the game. Unbelievable. A lone Ranger jersey in a sea of red. So nice to come out with the win. A few obnoxious fans, but a lot of fun.
McD is a beast. The entire D played well, and hats off to Richards, Cally, and of course Gabs for finally netting one! I'll be at game 5 too. Hoping it's to clinch.
No matter how much Gabby has under-performed these playoffs, THAT is why he's still important. He's a game breaker. This goal is all Richards though, he's been our best forward these playoffs. This is a great win for the team, the emotion involved in it was intense. You can't help but feel amazing after winning this type of game.

I just came back as well! Got a last minute ticket and holy **** am I glad I did. I think something that cannot be overstated is that a LOT of the home ice advantage was diminished as the game went along. At the beginning of the game, Verizon was deafening as usual, but by the 2nd OT a bunch of Caps fans had left, and those that were there just weren't as into it as the beginning. There definitely was noise but nowhere near where it was. That didn't stop the Caps fans from mouthing off after the game. I have so many memories from the game, and this will be one that I will never ever forget Let's keep it goin!!!

Agreed. People were leaving I think because the metro was closing at 1. Or maybe they just didnt want to stay up that late. Either way, you're right, it seemed to lose energy. But then again, I did too!
I was sitting down pretty low (company seats -section 110), and there were a few Caps fans mouthing off all game, but not too bad. Really a great memory. The stuff sports of great sports memories. I hope we can win on Saturday and go for the clinch on Monday.
Cally, Girardi, and Boyle symbolize why this sport is the best there is on the planet.
The heart, passion, intensity of blocking all those shots one after another shift after shift, is incredible, sacrificing their bodies. Boyle gets hit in the face area, next shift he's out there blocking another. Girardi runs into the lockerroom, gets stiched up, back in there blocking shots.
I would give Ryan McDonagh the #1 star...that was just the most epic performance by a defenseman that I can remember in a long, long time.
Yup, dude was a machine today.
It's fantastic that we have 3 guys in McD, Girardi and Staal who have proven they can handle 30+ minutes a game when needed.
Also, I hate tooting my own horn, but besides one stupid play Marc was immaculate as well and he played near 50 minutes, too. It blows my mind people want him traded.
