I will be there. Don't want to have an angry 3 hour train ride home.

I'm kindof mixed on it.

If he's playing on the 4th line, that means it's low minutes and PP

but..........

If he's playing on the 4th line, that means he's obviously not 100%

And the 4th-line and Harold where all playing great. I guess as long as he cant make it worse, and he can do SOMETHING productive, I'm all for it. But he was completely useless in Game 1 so unless it's much better, I'd rather have Harold. You just have to hope the coaching staff and doctors know what they're doing.

Last game the lines were dominant in all 3 zones. Keep them, and if Kovy plays, please play him on 4th line RW instead of Harrold. 6-8 mins of 5 on 5, and PP time should leave him at around 12-14 mins. More than enough time for him to be effective without having to kill himself, and more importantly not effect the lines that dominated the last game.

My only worry is that we don't need to win this game. That hasn't been a recipe for success.

I personally wouldn't screw around with a 100 million dollar asset like this but let the devils do what they want. I wonder how much of this is Lou exerting pressure on Kovy? Lou expects his players to play without limbs, last I recall.

"limit his time" "4th line and PP pls"

You people do know he's going to get 18 minutes + both special teams regardless, right?

Again, as a fellow herniated disc victim, resting does not necessarily improve things. Doctors and therapists always are encouraging you to keep moving around (although I do understanding playing NHL-level hockey is what they have in mind). If they did the shots, which cause the discs to shrink back, additional rest will not result in additional improvement. Look it up.

Only time we've won when we haven't needed it is game 1 of the playoffs. That is pretty much the most alarming thing about this team actually. They essentially play themselves into an elimination status with that approach and you lose one game on a bounce and you're screwed. Hopefully they don't do that here.

I don't expect the Flyers to sit back and let us take it either. The same lines might not be as effective this time. If Kovy can help us, he should play.

There's nothing wrong with Kovy playing if he plays sparingly.

Obviously if he gets the minutes he got in Game 1 and he isn't productive, that's another story.

DeBoer said who comes out of lineup if Kovalchuk plays will also be a game-time decision. Said Harrold sitting is one of the options.

I wouldn't take Kovy practicing with the 4th line as a surefire "he's still in too much pain!" message; rather, it seems more precautionary. Maybe he's had a cortisone shot and feels great, but if he overexerts himself and re-aggravates it then he can be taken out of the game without the staff having to figure out how to fill up 23+ minutes of ice time. Much easier to make up for 5-10 minutes of ice time, if that's what he winds up playing.

Still, as he said, game-time decision, so nothing's set in stone.

As for limiting Kovalchuk's minutes/role if he plays, DeBoer said, "If he's in, he's full in."

aaaaaaaaaaaaand that's that.

I don't see why we can't just use him as our ace on the PP, or in the 3rd when everyone is gassed.

But then again, I'm not a coach in the NHL. Back to you, Petey.

Waiting honestly has no merit if he got cortisone shots. Playing more minutes won't affect this injury.

and at "full in" with this it means 50% tops. Install one of those pain management nerve blockers. He'll fly like the wind.

Unless, he aggravates it even further, which is very possible given the variables of a playoff game.

After Bryzgalov said yesterday he would be an astronaut if he wasn't playing hockey, Kovalchuk said he'd be a "taxi driver."
