Not expecting the Caps to roll over and die by any means, but one has to wonder how deflating that triple OT loss was for them - to play 6 periods of hockey only to go down 2-1 in the series? Had the Rangers been on the losing end of that game I might be a little more apprehensive about our chances in the series - more so in terms of the player psyche and the momentum of the series. If we can win the next game it would be huge.

Remember how we felt as a fanbase after the 2OT loss last year vs Washington? My guess is that this type of game could have an effect on the fans of Washington. To lose a game like that can suck the life out of the fans. While the fans in NY for game 5 will be rocking if they can somehow comeback with a chance to win in 5.

It can also kill the Washington players losing a game that lasted that long and not being able to score on Hank. The Rangers have to take the momentum into game 4 and score first again. Take that crowd out. Creep in the doubt of the 2nd round failures of Washington over the past seasons. If they can do that, the series will be on a platter for them to take.

in all fairness to holtby i think he was saying it with a little sarcasim meaning that he will never get over the loss unless he wins a cup or winning a cup one day might make him forget it.

even if he said winning the fourth round as in this year, how could you fault him?
that is the mindset you have to have to win the cup and i would expect every player on every team in the playoffs to think the same exact way.

would'nt you agree?

Wow. This made me smile. That is great to hear the emotion and joy.

I was at the game, 10th row, and my buddy moved down to the third row. You can see him in one of the videos of the goal (not this one though). He is wearing a white graves jersey and puts his hands up (right before the video cuts to a face shot of OV).

We had a blast. A fantastic game to be at. I'll never forget it.

This is Sather and Dolan after the Winter Classic

Boyle,Prust and Richards on the left. Eminger is standing behind Sather and Dolan. Eminger was hurt with the shoulder injury at the time. He has his right arm close to his body. The guy standing to Eminger's right is Barry Watkins. Another Garden honcho.

Mic'd up: Hagelin and the Rangers following 3OT victory over Caps

Saw this video on NHL.com -- apparently they had Carl Hagelin (and his amazing flow) mic'd up during the game and it caught the reactions of the Rangers on the ice after Gabby scored as well as the guys who jumped off the bench to mob him as the game ended. I love it when players are mic'd up because it shows you the "real" side of the players.

Wish they didn't bleep half of the swears out though, but I think Hags says something like "It's about time you ****ing scored one"

http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/con...ed-share-video

Sorry, I don't know how (if possible) to embed NHL.com videos.

Did he say "**** all of them" (referring to the Caps fans, including the guy who flipped the bird)? Hahahahhahahaha

Well, the GWG was pretty. I guess the NBC homers were talking about the Caps players being so exhausted, not the Rangers.

They sounded so dejected when the Rangers won.

Yes i agree. However its not fun in the playoffs if you cant trash talk. As all fans do for every team..Have some fun. If you wanna get rammed in the azz by Holtby just call him. He'll be available soon as his season is almost over.
