Anyone have any questions for Scrivens? Doing an interview with him tonight if there's enough interest

I'm not sure how appropriate the question is but,

"Despite your contract status, Brian Burke affirming his belief in James and stating a desire to bring in a veteran, do you feel you could be playing in the NHL next season (with or without the Toronto Maple Leafs organization)?"

or alternatively,

"Despite your contract status, Brian Burke affirming his belief in James and stating a desire to bring in a veteran, how important is this summer to you taking the step forward towards the NHL and do you plan on changing your approach to summer training?"

Thanks Jeff.

Portland down 3-2 after two periods of play tonight. Ross is really running around and has already taken 3 minor penalties. No points for him yet.

Great game tonight... Scrivens was lights out, D'Amigo should showed so much passion out there (broke his stick in anger after missing his breakaway chance in the first period) and Kadri looked really slick out there with some nasty passes.

Something interesting...

The Marlies will be on the same plane as the Heat going out west.

Wow, that's really strange haha.

Ross looked ok tonight. Nothing spectacular though. He needed to reign it in at times tonight, but he wasn't horrible.

Scott, Acton and Gysbers should be nowhere near the ice considering what the Marlies currently have available

Announcers were huge homers in that game.

Didn't watch all of it, but the Oil Kings goalie really saved their bacon while I watched.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

There are other players we as fans would want to see, but the team is not allowed to play them. Before the playoffs every team has to submit a clear day roster, and the Marlies submitted theirs with those players on it. You can only submit it with players on the team at that time I believe, that's why Frattin/Gardiner were sent down. So it wouldn't have been possible to submit with Percy, Broll, Leivo, Abbott because they weren't around at the time.

So unfortunately the only way those guys play is if others on the roster get injured. But honestly I like what at least Acton and Scott bring. Acton aside from Rosehill/Fraser is our only nasty in your face player to play against. Scott is quick as **** and a great penalty killer, that's all you could ask for from a fourth liner.

As for Gysbers, he might have been more effective in the regular season but now they're giving primary minutes to the other two pairings so we're seeing him less.

Is Scott that bad?
Probably doenst have a future with the Leafs, but you still need a veteran presence even at the AHL level to help the development of the youngsters.

He isn't bad at all for what he is. There's no reason why he should be out of the lineup. He's a heart and soul type of player. Picture Mike Brown, but with better wheels.

Scott was one of our best players throughout the yr and in the first round of the playoffs. He's one half, top line, of the best PK in the AHL along with Damigo. He brings It every night, grinds like mother ****er and has a great shot. One of my favorite players on the marlies but I will give u he hasnt been great in round 2

Yeah I always liked how Scott played too I actually thought he might be able to play on a fourth line one day.

Also, the icecaps and penguins left here on the same plane as well, further to a post above.

I'd like to chime in too and defend Scott. He is probably the Marlies' most consistent player throughout the season. Gysbers is also a pretty decent AHL defenseman. And even has improved a lot during the year. Sorry, not every Marlie is an intriguing NHL prospect. These guys didn't deserve that post.

Scott has a lot of heart.... like Fraser, I see him as a good player to have on an AHL team but not much of an NHL upside.
