Yeah, because he was partially responsible for the 3-on-2. He went to make a hit, but missed and hit a Flyer. Giroux was farther back and had to hustle just to try and make it a 3-on-3.

they need to shoot the puck more 14-7 its obvious the devils want it more, flyers are playing careless hockey.

As if the Flyers can turn the game around and prevail. Shouldn't even be here.

As if Giroux is a top player, a byproduct of Jagr.

As if Bryzgalaov is a legit goalie, looks more like Leighton with a new helmet and number.

As if Carle is going to play like a man looking to cash in during UFA.

As if we wasted a 2nd overall pick on JvR.

Right. This isn't the old Devils of the 90s.

Seriously. It's a 1 goal game. Are the Flyers getting outplayed? **** yeah they are. But we all know what the Flyers are capable of doing, it's just a matter of them doing it.

This isn't new. Laviolette's motivational prowess may be fine--if, er, situational. But he's inferior as an Xs and Os guy.

I get it. It was a huge shift from Pittsburgh to New Jersey, but by this point in the series, make some adjustments.

Last game I was convinced the Flyers just weren't skating and played like crap... this game... unless Flyers can turn it around just looks like we are out coached and can't stop the cycle game.

Here's hoping to an awesome 2nd and 3rd periods.

We showed in Game 1 that we can beat these guys, we just need to play with that amount of JAM

Giroux looked like he was ready to start this game off right from the get-go, but it hasn't been enough. Period 2 better be a significant improvement

Sure but Lavi's defensive aspect of his system is one of the less structured in the league.

Well, that period was a lot like the last game. Unfortunately. The Devils are outworking us. They win every board battle, and cycle the hell out of our defense who runs around like headless chickens. Our breakout pass doesn't work half the time either. We're looking for the stretch pass a bit much. In part that is because the Devils are forcing us to do so however, can't take anything away from them, they've been playing great the last game and now this period.

Giroux has to work harder on the backcheck on the Kovalchuk goal. That was Brière-esque (whose line is stuck in the defensive zone all the time, yet again, btw). Lilja has made quite a few questionable decisions out there, but what is more worrying is that Grossmann is following his lead. We need to sort this out. Hopefully this is another one of those games where we suck in the first period, and then turn things around in the 2nd and 3rd.
