****. Well, the Devils were the better team tonight. We only had one good period really, and you don't win many games when that's the case. The PP's in ot was terrible. No one wanted to take the shot, even when they had Fayne playing without a stick no one took any initiative. Not the puck carrier, not the other four guys. That's not good enough. A bad line change and a terrific pass by Kovalchuk is all it takes to make us pay unfortunately.
At least it was a better game than game 2 though. Coburn continues to play great. He'll crush Ponikarovsky next game first chance he gets. Grossmann I thought played better and better. He had some trouble handling the puck, might be due to the poor ice, but he was being physical along the boards and in front of the net. Timonen had one of his better games recently, even if it definitely took it's toll on him. He's a warrior though. Schenn was probably our best forward, one of the few who had some wheels towards the end of the game, hitting and creating chances. Hartnell and JvR also played a lot better than they did in game 2.
I still say Flyers in 6. Just dig down and turn this **** around now.
I like how Lilja gets the blame when his dumbass partner Gus tries to go for a change when the puck clearly doesn't get deep enough for it. Come on gus wake the **** up. Its clearly the period of the long change.
So frustrating to watch that last powerplay. You've got Briere sitting behind the net with the puck, and Giroux dumping every pass he gets along the boards. Nobody stopping pucks on the point. Sloppy, lazy, ugly.
Against my better judgment, I feel the need to point out how ridiculous your statement is. It was a slightly better than routine save, and a goaltender on his game would have done better than to have waved at the rebound as it went into the net. I'm not, however, going to jump into the mud pit to even try to address your blind allegiance to Bryzgalov. So please do feel free to add to the sheer caricature of your post-history in this regard.
