Something isn't right with Giroux. Briere can't play defense. And Bryz doesn't play like a top six paid goalie, but my God, the Flyers should still win this series if they can sustain a forecheck and get pucks at Broduer who has been downright awful. I'd be stunned if Marty plays another season.

Bad line change by the rooks. That being said though, Lilja had a horrendous game. Age showing. Jagr, dont care if he's hurt, needs to sit a game if so because honestly we would get better puck handling from a pylon. Giroux hasnt done anything, either has Hartnell or Simmonds.

He isn't, there are quite a few. But he sure is a big one.

So pissed off...frustrated...hating everything.

We are getting absolutely dominated by the effing devils. We are horrible and can't do a single thing right.

Lost every puck battle, turned the puck over every chance they get, never got a cycle going, never got the forecheck going, can't handle passes, cant corral the puck, etc etc.

Just flat out terrible.

Giroux floated back on the Kovalchuk goal.

Good job Roo.

Unless I missed some bad plays, I thought Wellwood was very solid tonight. Skating the puck in, taking the hit, barrel-rolling on the ice back to the puck to fight for it was a great effort

it's only a weak goal, when we can lump it in w/ Bryz.

it then turns into a Danny 'snipe', when somebody calls out Danny for his brutal PP in OT & even worse change that cost us the game.

LOL

Guys I'm not saying Giroux shouldn't have skated harder back, but we had three people back on that goal. Grossmann over committed and it cost us big time.

Comparative to salary, yes he is. The D obviously needs help, but a $51,000,000 GT is supposed to do much better than Bryz has been.

Yeah, he doesn't have the skills to finesse, that's for sure.

But I don't think he's worth mentioning tonight.

First goal on Broduer goes in, if on Bryz I BET, you and JXC would get the pictures and somehow ******** your way into convincing it was everyone elses.

Team needs a lineup change.

Sit Jagr and Lilja.

Team needs some hard working players like Rinaldo or Holmstrom in the lineup. Hell put Hairy Z in the damn lineup. It needs to change because they are so soft along the boards. Losing every board battle and race to the puck.

Meszaros returning is not the answer: the Flyers have to change their game plan. They are getting very little sustained pressure, hardly any dangerous transition rushes, and are chasing the puck in all three zones. The Devils are standing the Flyers up at the blue line, and Brodeur is corralling most of the dump-ins.

DeBoer seems to have backed the defense way off to prevent fast breakouts and odd-man rushes. The Flyers need to establish the zone, make 2-3 quick passes and fire at the net with traffic.

Ugh. At this point it's a plus to be a non-factor, like Simmonds and Hartnell, than a detriment.

The speed that he was back on his feet was impressive.

Jags looks cooked but we knew he might run out of gas when we signed him.

What I want to know is why they seem afraid to shoot on the pp or ever. I understand that they want high-quality shots on Broudeur, but when the puck is jumping around and your passing is as bad as theirs has been, just SHOOT.

So wait, wait, wait. You praise Wellwood, but call Briere a bum? Gotcha. You don't have to tell me Briere's defense is nonexistent, but the fact you praise Wellwood over Briere is something else.

and we all know how much more the league gives a team by winning the CUP with players who perform 'comparative to salary' better against their opponents, right?

how about this one:

you do know that NHL players are not paid for the playoffs, right?

Any player tonight other than Wellwood compared to their salary was garbage tonight. I am not really a Bryz supporter, but when people ignore the many huge probs and just focus on a guy that isn't going anywhere drives me nuts.

by the standards of the BADz, the has been one good goal in this series - Giroux's one timer over Brodeur's shoulder. everything else has been soft, by their standards.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. They both have been so awful that they're hurting us every shift they take.
