Playing the PK and playing defense 5-on-5 are two completely different things.

I think he'll be a 20-40-60 guy next year.
In a career year I could see him being a PPG guy, but generally he's probably going to hover around 60-65.

But one's for sure, the Carter trade gets better looking with every passing game.

I really hope we re-sign him. He's awesome at hockey, but judging by a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff he also seems to be a big character guy in the locker room as well.

I got to see him play a ton in Columbus while I was at school and he was my favorite player on the team easily. He goes into corners like a buzzsaw, and so incredibly fast. Finishing is pretty bad, yes...but the rest of his game is above average. Good passer, good defense, great speed, good in the corners.

I hope he's here for a loooooooooooooooong time. That Jeff Carter trade landed me my two favorite players on the Flyers.

I think Voracek has the potential to put up 30-45-75. Obviously his shot needs work, but his game isn't lacking a whole lot else. He's going to continue to get better and having Jagr around this year has done wonders for him. His stick handling has made him look a little like Jagr lately. I'd love to see him on the PP with G for years to come. They work very well together. He has had one timer chances this year and failed on many, but it will improve with time. As soon as his shot is better, that PP unit will be scary. Hopefully we'll be able to lock him up for a nice price this summer because I don't want to lose him.

This guy has just gotten better and better as the season has gone on. If he can sort out his finishing, the sky is the limit. Will be very disappointed if we don't resign him.

I agree with this ! Just needs to work on his finishing and he will be even more dangerous than he already is..

Can somebody please try to find the numbers for voracek since kronwall hit? He has to be close to PPG since that hit. Ever since that hit when he came back hes been a totally different player

He is who I wanted the Flyers to draft years ago.

I imagine he would be even better if he had spent that time in Philadelphia rather than Columbus developing under the Flyer's tutelage .

All his other skillsets are money. I wish he would work with Jagr on his shot in the off-season. He has great hands-- pretty surprising his shot is lack luster, considering his puck control.

I find Voracek to be one of the most consistent forwards in terms of effort night in night. He might not be able to bury many of the goal scoring chances he has had all year, but he is very valuable on both ends of the ice.

Question is, should he be extended for anything less than JVR? I think if JVR was extended this summer, it would have been in the 3.5-3.75 range vs last summer. Have the playoffs revised your expectations of his next contract? What do you think he gets?

I think JV would get in the 3.5 range... seems fair.

how is 3.5 fair for voracek when giroux just signed for 3.75?

'fair' for voracek would be 3m tops.

JVR's cap next season will be 4.25 and the highest point totals he hit is 40.

Voracek will easily get 3.5 ish

Disagree. He had already heated up and was already playing well for about a month before that hit. Which concerned me because i thought that after the hit he wouldn't be playing as well. Glad to see it didn't affect him.

I think he definitely has high 60, low 70 point potential. His shot has improved from the time he was traded here to now although I don't expect him to keep up his 17.1 S %
He's still going to be more of a puck possession guy/playmaker than a goal scorer but I do see a few future 30 goal seasons on the horizon for him. I expect around 65 points for him this upcoming season.

25 goals, 45 assists seems very attainable

Hes going to put up a lot if points. His puck possession mixed with G's passing ability makes them a match made in heaven. It showed last year.

I reckon that with a little improvement in balance and strength, paired with the progression he's made in other areas of his game, will put him very close to the 70 pt mark annually. Hopefully.

Isn't it better to do that rather to start a new one for continuity and organizational sake?

I would think so. I always try to look for players old threads unless they are crazy old like draft threads.

I'd say the Jake has become a pretty important part of this team.
