No 1st round pick for Detroit this year, do you see Frk lasting to the early 50's? I sure don't.

Trades ? I don't know, but he'd fit nicely there.

I think he could work well in Pittsburgh eventually.

I hear Pittsburgh a lot as a good place... It's just they'll have the 50th/20th picks.... Gonna have to move down or gamble at 20

Hey you guys from Halifax who watch the the Mooseheads regularly, how is Martin Frk's skating. I hear that it is so-so. Maybe average. How would you describe his skating. Slow - fast, good stride - short stride, slow feet - fast feet, good balance - falls a lot.

From the videos that I have seen, it seems that he is an average skater speed wise, with good balance due to his strong core. Feet might be a bit slow. What do you say?

I would think NJ will forfeit their pick this year...from the Kovalchuk penalty.

Yeah if they make it to the Conference Finals (which it looks like it could happen) the lowest they will pick is 26th... might as well forfeit it.

Pretty fair assesment. The biggest downfall in his game is he takes very stupid penalties at very stupid times. But he is a rough player and that is just how he plays. He plays very borderline. I want Leafs to grab him if he's available by the time they make their 2nd round pick as he does have good potential. But he just wasn't the same after the concussion.

This kid is tough and yes, does take dumb penalties sometimes. But he did went to the WJC at 16 yo and played really well for the Czech. I remember him playing fearlessly against Canada when he speared Gudbranson in the nuts haha

After a slow start to the season Frk has really started to pick up the pace.

Goalies don't see his shot, you just stand there and hope it hits you lol... 7 goals and 10 assists in 8 games.... He's on fire after a surgery and undisciplined start.

That's awesome.

Can you post highlights from the game?

Good call lol.

I think Frk is a good pick at wher ehe was. The wings can take their time with him and he has the potential to be a top 6 guy or a third liner that can chip in a bit.

Would you Halifax fans say he plays like an agitator or just has retaliatory outburts every now and then that lead to terrible penalties?

Yup. Takes more frustration/retaliatory penalties than lazy ones, which is good I suppose. I've actually been pleasantly surprised by his discipline, having checked out his Czech developmental league stats the year Halifax picked him up. Less than 2 PIM/game on average (far less) since joining the Q is a dramatic improvement!

Certainly... He was very undisciplined in the Czech rep, and even n the world juniors... What I'm looking forward too most is his WJC's this year though... He skipped last years and this time around he looks like a much improved player. He'll be the czechs go-to guy.

What a strange player he's becoming. Very skilled, but dirty and cheap to a fault. On one hand, I can't see him playing like that in the NHL, and on the other, I would love to see him try. The Wings would definitely need a quality tough guy for that though.

Wicked shot for sure. He seems to have a ton of upside and is really playing motivated right now. Intriguing.

10 game point streak of 20 points total, really found his place lately on the top line with MacKinnon and Drouin.

His staking still needs lots of work, but his shot is absolutely outstanding.

His shot was about 70 to 75 last season. Simply amazing.

His skating has improved a lot since his rookie season. The knee surgery and missing 4 months last season will hurt anyone, but I have to give credit to him for addressing that area as best he can under the circumstances. Skill more work to be done there though.

His shot is just ridiculous. Certainly no one in the Q with a harder I'd say... The CHL, that's different, but he should be up there.
