Joe Morrow is getting me excited too.

Has anyone seen him play? I'm getting him slightly confused with Harrington I think.

We should ask Harrington to change his name to Joe also... that way the 3 Joes can reign.

Yea all those that were mentioned.

The one positive i hope i see next year is the difference in the Defensive systems. The one they implement obviously doesn't work for playoff hockey.

I want Shero, DB et. all to watch every playoff game from here on out and set up something that works, not only for this team but for this team to win in the playoffs.

Hell, just look at our 2009 roster. You don't need big money guys to get the job done. Just competent guys who play the system well enough to 1)help out MAF and 2)give you a chance to win hockey games.

I'd go with Joey. That name has a nice ring to it

I take it back. He should change his name to Rex. Why Rex? Because it's a bad-ass name that's why. Sure some people name their dogs Rex but it doesn't matter. You can't tell me Rex Harrington wouldn't be feared and respected all at once.

While I hope you're right, I have little reason to have faith. Shero has been risk averse since the Hossa deal (the Whitney and Gologoski deals, while 'risks', involved Shero dealing relatively expendable assets), and Bylsma's playoff coaching acumen is inversely related to his regular season work.

Definitely digging our stable of defensive prospects. That gives us a lot of flexibility. I also think we're in great shape going into next season. I mean, next year is definitely a big year for this group of guys. It could be the last time they all play together, so they have to make it count, and I think they will.

I'm still highly excited by this team. People can be down on them, and those are legitimate feelings, but it doesn't change what we have in place. Sid and Geno are 50 goal guys, Neal showed he's capable of 40, Staal showed he's capable of 30. We also have guys like Kunitz who can be in the mid-20's, Dupuis in the high teens-low 20's, Cooke in the high teens-low 20's. This team can score goals. If we can return to playing some staunch defense and highly physical attacking style offensively where we are getting pucks deep and grind teams out...we'll win the President's trophy next season and be the favorites again.

I think with this team's character, they are going to come back embarrassed and focused. Highly dangerous if you factor in the points I mentioned above.

They couldn't be embarassed and after losing to Montreal in 2010? Or focused for 2012 with a healthy Sid and all geared up for a run?

I don't buy much about this team's character, because I think a lot of it from years past is not in the room anymore.

I take it you're ecstatic about our defensive prospects? Our commitment to defense is going to allow us to control our roster much like we'd be able to control the pace of the game against most clubs.

Mr JiggyFly, I have good news, I'm your dad. Want me to show you how to shave?

Also, more good news, James Neal can score in the playoffs.

Sid and Geno at 100% terrorizing the league next year should be fun to watch.

Yup. I think Evgeni has come out of an injury troubled time and IMO is shedding his enigmatic personna of not being able to put up points when Sid is in the lineup. And take it from Gary Roberts, there's no way Sid was at 100% fitness-wise in these playoffs after missing that much time.

The positives are obvious, we have an awesome core, and coaching staff but we are going to have to tweak our philosophy here. You look at the 5 remaining teams in the playoffs, they're all playing more careful, cautious, patient, disciplined and focused.
