Ugh, it may be Sweden and not Italy or Germany, but you still can't ask soccer-prices for non-soccer sports. It's not gonna fly.

Shero should smuggle the entire Russian national team to the Pen's training camp.

Then, and only then, will my faith be restored.

Seriously, Dats has been in the states (NHL) since 2001 and that is the best effort he can muster?

Edit: I see in hindsight that you're talking about Malkin. I didn't watch the first video. Yeah, Malkin's English is very good at this point. It's come along quite a bit since coming into the league. He's been here for half the time as Datsyuk and his english is 4x better.

Why are Bylsma & Shero there? They should be watching the playoffs & the Baby Pens. What could possibly be ascertained from watching this?

I mean it's fun hockey to watch but I would think their time would be better spent getting a read on what better teams are doing to win in the playoffs or future players.

or scouting european talent that is not in the NHL, first hand because they never get to do that. But its ok, you can just find a way to spin this against Bylsma

Almost all the talent in the tournament are NHL players.

Maybe they want to see how different players perform outside of their system and with different line mates.

Shero is a part of USA hockey, so I'm not surprised he is there. Not sure about Bylsma.

Well at this rate he will have plenty of time in 2014 to focus on coaching other teams.

Somewhat surprised that Byslma isn't back home watching WBS or dissecting the playoffs...

A few former Pens draft picks are playing in the tourny. Ondrej Nemec (CZE), Alex Rouleau (FRA), Michel Sersen (SLV). Interesting to note that Rouleau had previously played for Canada at the WJHC years ago.

Also former players Tomas Surovy (SLV), Petr Nedved (CZE), Konstantin Koltsov (Bel), Janne Pesonen (Fin)

Bylsma's system would actually work well in international hockey because it's far less physical and a bigger sheet of ice for his attacking D to pick apart. The only question would be does the US have the kind of defensive horses for that kind of game playing against and equally fast and more talented Canadian team? And arguably a better Swedish team as well. Russians are soft; they drink too much between games.

IIHF posts a humorous 'Power Ranking' list

Haha, those rankings are hilarious. The fact that they're on the official IIHF site is awesome.

Russia says "no way" to Norway

http://www.iihf.com/competition/272/...ash=3cad8d9b5c

2 assists and this little nugget

Quote:
Malkin took a big hit in the corner from Martin Røymark, and got the puck to Kulyomin, who stickhandled straight to the slot and zipped the puck past Volden’s blocker to give the Russians a 3-1 lead at 12:46. Malkin was shaken up on the sequence, as Norwegian captain Ole-Kristian Tollefsen fell on him, but he would carry on after sporting an ice pack on his neck at the bench.
