Trotter finished 5th in AHL scoring two seasons ago playing on a line with David Desharnais and Ryan White, both of whom have made the jump successfully. The Habs wouldn't give him a contract so he went to Russia, that's Gauthier's mistake.. He is a scorer, but finding room for him on the roster could be difficult, not sure I would annoint him as a 2nd liner without any practical results yet, and with Machacek, Miettenen, and Thorburn on the roster for next year, there isn't a lot of room. I would take him over Fehr though, no question, he is coming into his prime whereas Fehr may be passing his. Hope he signs a two-way with the Jets, he could give us some depth, maybe form a top notch AHL line with Telegin and Rosa next year.
