Glad I held off on seeing the final results to the US vs Canada. The third period is pretty interesting.

I thought Braun was the worst defenseman for the US. He was involved on 3 of Canada's goals, and made a mistake on every one.

Hehe, Tavares was given player of the game for the Canadian team.

I actually thought he was Canada's best player, even with penalty.

I agree. But he looked pretty pissed with himself when he accepted it.

Yeah, I agree, but he played well and helped give Canada an opportunity to win. That's more than you can say about some players.

I thought the US Anaheim players had good games. Less so on the Canadian side.

Cam looked more involved, than I've seen him in a Ducks jersey, in a long time. Not to say he was bad this season, he just seemed more active in this game.

I think Cam was just bummed over how bad a season this was the whole time.

I'm kind of hoping Boudreau is watching this tournament, because when Fowler isn't attached to the blue line he's a much more effective player. It doesn't hurt his defensive game either, because he makes good reads and has the skating ability to recover. If Boudreau wants to get the most out of Fowler, I think it would help to see Fowler playing his type of game.

I'm amazed to see him as an effective pairing with JJ. Based on their reputations you'd expect them to already be at a combined -96 for the tournament.

Yeah. For whatever reason they just work. I sure wouldn't mind seeing that pairing in Anaheim.

Considering how much they gave up for him, and that he did well in his brief time there, we would probably have to offer them Fowler to pry JJ away from them. The good news is Fowler has looked damn good with Ellis and Carlson, so maybe Schultz, Vatanen, or someone like Rielly or Ceci would be a good fit.

Yeah, it's just a pipe dream, but it's a good one. You make an excellent point though. Give him some talent to work with, and you've got yourself a good pairing. That's how it has been so far, at any rate.

Dunno if it was reported here already but Perry, Getzlaf and Ward were out drinking after the USA loss. Just read Getzlaf almost got into a fight too in the bar. http://www.iltalehti.fi/mmjaakiekko2...37355_j0.shtml

Translate if you want

Carlson plays a much better 2 way game than Ellis, Vatanen, and Rielly.

Getzlaf is never going to get a contract offer in the KHL with that type of behavior

Dunno if this was already posted, but here is Getzlaf and Perry drinking beer and dancing with some Finnish blondes in the nightclub after the loss to USA...

Video here (there might be 15 seconds long ads in the beginning)

As long as Getzy wasn't dancing with anyone other than his wife, I don't see a problem with it.
