Brodin seems that his game will tranlate well especially because he is a great skater with an amazing hockey IQ

Marts(coach): "He's so calm och was doing very well. He's a big player. Too bad he will be gone [to the NHL] if he gets to play a lot here. We'll have to hide him somewhere."

Kronwall: "It's impressive. You could see it already at the first practice that he will be a very special player. He feels like a new Kenny Jonsson, not a mistake and he always comes out with the puck. He takes the right decisions. We'll see a lot more of him in the future. His hockey sense is better than most others."

Alfredsson: "Fun to watch Brodin, I've never seen him play before. He's 18 years old and steps in and plays this good. It's impressive."
Was never a hockey fan for that long ... any care to give a quick description of Kenny Jonsson and whether that comparison is correct? All I've heard is that he's good...

this is what wikipedia had to say

Jönsson was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1st round as the 12th overall selection in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After playing with the Toronto club during the 1994–95 lockout shortened season, he was traded midway through the 1995–96 season to the New York Islanders in a player exchange which brought highly popular former captain Wendel Clark back to Toronto. Jönsson has spent most of his career as a professional player with the Islanders. After playing with the Swedish second division team Rögle BK, where he started his career, during the 2004–05 NHL lockout, he announced in the summer of 2005 that he was staying with the club for the 2005–06 season.

Jönsson played with the Islanders from 1996 through 2004. Fans and journalists considered Jönsson one of the most underrated defensemen in the league during his time in the NHL.[citation needed] He played good positional defense and had sound offensive skills as well, but his quiet demeanor and low-key playing style kept him below the radar of some observers.[1] During the 1999–2000 NHL season, Jönsson was named captain of the Islanders. After a season and a half, he stepped down and ultimately was succeeded by Michael Peca.

He was voted Best Defender of the Tournament at the 2006 Winter Olympics where Sweden won the gold medal. This was quite surprising considering he had spent a season in the Swedish second division, while most of the other players played in the NHL.

Kenny Jonsson was also a goaltender up until age 10.

Adrian Aucoin on Jonsson: "One of the best well-rounded players I've ever played with. Kenny never made mistakes. ... Probably the steadiest player I've ever played with:"

I'm pleased to hear both Kronwall and Alfredsson giving young Brodin praise.

Official Wild Organization Hype-O-Meter:

Coyle>Brodin>Granlund

(results may vary)

For me Brodin is #1.
Cautiously optimistic about Coyle and Granlund, but full-on hockey crush on Bacon.

Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic about them all. I ranked Coyle as #1 because there are multiple threads on the Prospect board hyping Coyle every week. Nothing about Phillips, though.

Cuz Phillips is nothing but a product of his teammates.

He is nowhere near as terrible as Brunette. Phillips was better last year. Now hes heads above Brunette.

Oh God Forbid we get stuck with a player who is as hard working and talented as Bruno was.

I can think of much worse punishments than being stuck with a player like that.

Between the media and Kassian, everyone uses HFBoards.

Brodin is on the ice with Staffan Kronwall when the game starts.

Edit: 7 shifts the first 15 minutes.

Brodin got on the score sheet with an assist on Zetterberg's ES 6-1 goal.
