I also love the historical rivalry. As much as our fan bases take glee in the misfortunes of the other team, I personally would love to see many more playoff wars with the Leafs.

Parise has french canadian origins (''not this again!'' I know..), he seems like the kind of guy that could be affected by arguments about how great and glorious the history of this team is and I'm pretty sure Gionta could say a few words to him.
The PPG line. Like it.

If you wanted Parise, I'm sure McGuire would have offered the moon for him, based on the way he's drooled over him since he was drafted.

If the habs are going to spend that kind of money, I'd much rather look at a top d-man first, either through trade or perhaps the UFA market.

First he has to identify the structural changes needed in the organization,ie. reducing Timmins workload so he can focus on scouting. I'm sure he will spend time talking to alot of people identifying problem areas.

1) Convince the NYR to hire Gainey/Gauthier
2) Trade them Gomez for a first round pick, and a throw in like say... McDonagh.

I think Bergervin needs to make his first move by calling Gauthier and offering him a position in the organization .The position offered would be to wear a ORANGE FURRY SUIT in 2012 -13 season....

"Youppi"

I'd rather see the Habs sign Pierre Dagenais.

His first move ?

Moving the furniture in his new office.

Then, hiring an assistant GM.
