2 top talent evaluators. I like it. Throw Timmins in there and we are looking pretty good

Absolutely. There must be a reason he wants to jump ship and I think you nailed it. I'm guessing he will be a right hand man. He has the experience and contacts and will be a good bouncing board for Bergevin. Although I wonder if Hartley will be considered as he was assistant GM when Waddell hired him.

I think Nonis is the clear number 2 in TO. I expect Dudley to be a kind of conciliary for Bergy, considering their previous working relationships and his experience. He'll also likely get the Pro-scouting and contract portfolios while Carriere can be GM of Hamilton.

I gotta say, I like how our front office is shaping up. Flank Bergy with experience in Dudley, Carriere and Timmins. Hopefully everything works out.

It's "could have", not "could of"...you do this all the time and so many others, I'm starting to think none of you know better. "of" makes no sense in this regard.

Good news I think about the asst GM slot going to Dudley though.

I like this duo...an old veteran and young hot shot.

Hartley next?

So we won't get him until after the draft?

Not surprising R.Dudley is off 2 MTL. He was a huge reason Chgo won the Cup. He also was a big reason D. Byfuglien developed. Grt hky guy.

Forwards, forwards, forwards, forwards.

We have a fairly deep pool of defense prospects. We are very thin at forward.

Trade/UFA for immediate defensive help in the offseason. And then draft forwards. Big forwards.

I disagree. Let Dudley "help" with the Leafs draft.

Of course with the intent that Dudley does everything possible to screw up the draft for the Leafs.

Great news...although after hearing his interview with Marinaro the other day, you had to expect this

Now if the Habs can somehow squeeze Vigneault or Quennville out of their respective cities, i`ll be one extremely happy Habs fan

it will almost have made this putrid season worth it

No kidding. What a team. I prefer Quennville easily but either is good for me.

Let Patrick Roy coach the Quebec Nordiques. We'll take Dave Tippet.

Not surprising news. I don't expect we'll get him until after the draft, which is pretty much par for the course. The Leafs can afford to let him go since they have a ton of AGMs there.

I think MB, Dudley, and Timmins will be a very good trio. Plus, we still have Carriere, who seems to be respected around the league. That's a quality front office staff.

Just need a quality coach now.

Fantastic news. I hinted in the other thread how cool it would be to have him on board and this is just great. I`m still skeptical about Bergy but this is a great move.

I wouldn't say Vish was fading prospect per say ,, He needed work on his defensive game and he started to work on it in Rockford but bolted to KHL after just 1 year (Which sucked)

But Adam Clendening the guy Hawks picked with the 2nd looks like a quality defensive prospect

To early to call it a steal ,, Especially since the Hawks got the value that was Ladd's worth at time (2nd + prospect)

Just wondering, why are some people thinking Quenneville may be available for our head coaching position?

It's still a steal. Half the package left the team...Ladd improved and even if he didn't, half the package left the team! The other half is unproven. For all we know in 5 years we'll look back and say ladd was traded for free.

He won't be. There was talks him and Stan Bowman don't see eye to eye but I don't see the big deal. They will discuss and talk about it.

darrendreger:
expect rick dudley to be soon named asst gm of the mtl canadiens. Marc bergevin and leafs gm brian burke are in discussions.

https://twitter.com/darrendreger/sta...88864810754050

darrendreger:
dudley's move is complicated as he's done extensive work on draft for tor. Leafs would prefer his start with mtl be delayed to after draft.

Arthyukin!!!coming to Mtl?

Cause a large portion of Hawk fans hate him and people like to speculate that our team president who wants more results on ice will get rid of him

I have trouble calling it a steal especially when it is forced upon a team ,, Hawks still got a solid pick out of deal and the prospect was playing on US WJC team this year

We shall see but too early to call it a steal

This isn't like Bowman trading for Leddy with Barker going to Wild ,, That you can call a steal completely with Leddy nearly 40 pt PMD at 20 yrs old and Barker bought out and a fringe NHLer at this point

We have a trade to announce! The Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt the 2012 5th overall draft pick to the Montreal Canadiens for Peter Budaj and Rene Bourque!
