Roster 2006-2007

Who from the Aeros will make the squad next year and who will be replaced?

Personally The production of Wanvig and Veilleux has been minimal. I could see them gone.

Bring up Pat O and could Voloshenko make the team?

I think Patty will be the only one...Veilleux will stick because he plays better defense and has some offensive awareness. Wanvig is just crazy/frenetic out there. If Patty hadn't gotten hurt, probably would've made the team this year.

Soon we will experience the O' in a Wild uni...wait, err...

I wonder which UFAs will be retained? Chouinard perhaps.

Also, a lot depends on whether the Wild go shopping or not.

I wouldn't mind next year's team minus Veilleux, Robitaille, and Zyuzin, plus O'Sullivan and Harding.

I hope that Foy, Irmen and Westrum can play on a 4th line together. Call them the W.I.F.E line. Westrum, Irmen, Foy and Energy. A line that just pesters you and should make a mistake you hear about for a long time. And they will never quit nagging and nagging you. And should they find a weakness they exploit it forever.

Foster will be here as a #3-4 D, with all the PP time he can handle.

Zyuzin will probably be let go. He has world-class skills, but his hockey sense is pretty close to none. Since we just got Skoula, who has the same reputation but is signed for another year, there's no point in keeping both of them.

Skoula is a much better version of Zyuzin

I think that Harding will be down in Houston for another year. What good does it for him if he sits up on the bench for around 65-70 games?

As usual, I disagree on Harding's future. The good is that he'll play 20-25 games against a much higher level of competition; AHL success doesn't necessarily mean NHL success. I'd feel more confident in his ability to take over some day if he's shown success as an NHL backup.

Plus, the Wild may ramp up his playing time over the next few years as well. It's not like they haven't split goalie duties before.

yup harding will 100% be in the nhl next year.

He will get in 25 games, who knows maybe more injuries happen.

But facing shots from gaborik and rolston in practice you can learn as much as facing ahl competition.

They will bring him along slow. But he's up for good ( barring a send back to the AHL for the playoffs) of course.

I would like to think so. He came really close to making the team this year.

I hope not. I'd rather see him go to Houston next year, where he'll get a hell of a lot more ice time than he ever would in St. Paul. One step at a time; 2007 is plenty soon enough, and with O'Sullivan and possibly Voloshenko making the jump this fall, they don't need to squeeze one more rookie into the lineup.

I agree, when he was drafted I thought he was one of the least NHL ready players. I projected him to arrive 2007 at the earliest.
