Schenn made Beauchemin look like another Lebda in Toronto. He was definitely outplayed.
Even if we consider that to be true, which the Leafs coaching staff apparently didn't if we look at the time on ice both were receiving even that year, it's pretty meaningless right now. Beauchemin has played great in Anaheim and has been a far better player than Schenn this entire year, at the ultimate least, just as Sojourn said.
I meant scoring off the ice... He had looooong conversation with former Miss Finland in the bar
He's married and has a kid, so it probably just took him a little longer to turn her down. I mean, what guy in his right mind would just do that in a second...?

I have always though that WC for Canadian and US players is a two week vacation from wives and kids...

Probably a bit of truth to that, at least. That said, I guess it's up to the individuals to decide how broad they are defining "vacation" for themselves for such situations...
Granted, there were certainly a ton of players that said no, but Canada should have brought better skaters to international ice. They also went with a little too much youth - relying on RNH and Murray to play big roles was a mistake.

Exactly. Unfortunately, Beauchemin wasn't available. It sucks that Canada lost Vlasic. That blue line isn't getting any better, and it already needed help. :/

It probably helps that his wife is quite a looker.
Phaneuf, Bouwmeester, and Schenn are going to be Canada's downfall..
Bouwmeester is fine. He was once one of the most overrated D-men out there, but in truth he's generally pretty solid and is a great skater for his size. Schenn, on the other hand
From what i understand Quincey is a replacement for Subban, Quincey logs over 20 minutes (He cant be that bad???) a game.
Is he top 4 in Detroit ? I keep reading his best Asset is Skating...
I hope for Weber and look realistically towards Alzner or Girardi (Staal will say NO as did his brothers)
Quincey is a quality skater and he'll help in transition, probably more than Subban would have. Subban has a better shot though, and Canada really could use that on the point for the PP. Quincey would be fine paired with a solid defensive defenceman, but that plan is pretty much shot with Vlasic gone.

Bouwmeester and Keith have both looked pretty good. Coincidentally, they are the best skaters on the blueline (Subban would have been the best, but he's done).

Schenn and Getzlaf have looked really slow.
Perry has also been really meh, attempts a cute move once in awhile and nothing else
Getzlaf & Perry were partying until 3 AM on Saturday-Sunday night, the two almost got into a fight as well but were stopped by the bouncers and some random outside person.
*Shrug* I've never seen a team that parties until 3 am winning anything.

It was their day off and maybe it was a "team-bonding" exercise.
Only difference in star players partying nowadays compared to 15 years ago is the fact that everybody has a mobilephone with cameras and almost everybody uses Facebook and/or Twitter. There were "reports" of Canadian players hanging out late already in sunday morning. 15 years ago? Propably nothing unless they ran into some reporter in middle of the night.
Next really important game is on Thursday and thats next weeks Thursday. 7 games to qualify for the quarter final which really isnt that hard. If I would play in some of those teams I would certainly go out and have some fun. Good for them.
