Such a beast. Can't believe the Kings were considering ( or at least rumoured) to want to deal that guy.

How much do you figure Jarret Stoll will cost? UFA this year making 3.6 I think.

Kings model these last few seasons have been to chase star players. Kovalchuk, Brad Richards, Mike Richards, Carter etc etc. They've been dead set on acquiring talent. They've struck out for years, but finally got Richards and Carter.

The Williams trade was a good one as well. A couple of good UFA signings in Scuderi, Mitchell and Stoll. Some good drafting.

The kings have been solid all around. They've made a couple of crappy signings(Ponikarovski) and trades(Penner, trading Purcell for Halpern) these past few years, but not every organization is perfect.

In terms of playing style, I'd say that the Kings just have a lot of talent in their lineup. Williams, Kopitar, Brown, Carter, Richards, Doughty, Quick, Voynov.

Flyers have done the same thing though. Kings have a lot of homegrown talent (just like the Flyers). They have also acquired a lot of young talent too. I don't see them being that different. Kings are just younger on the backend and have a good goalie.

I like how both teams operate, to tell you the truth. You should always be trying to make your team better. Flyers and Kings do that. Flyers are a goalie and a shtdown dman away (I doubt Pronger's coming back). Thing is Flyers have so much talent they can trade away to acquire whatever needs they have without missing a beat.

If he gets a brain transplant. He really seems done, the news from his family aren`t good. He`s probably in the same situation as Savard.

One team can't score goals, one team can't stop goals.

Ha! We did a couple of years ago - squeek into the playoffs, and get ridiculous goaltending at the right time.

What was funny was listening to Caps fans when Holtby pulled a Halak on the Bruins They remembered. It seems both LA and Caps are playing with solid tending and it can take you far like Roy did in 86/93.

The dude went around trying to give people concussions with that elbow of his. Seems like karma to me.

Well the difference is that Washington got dominated by the Bruins quite a lot. Haven't followed the Rangers vs Washington series all that much, just saw a bit of it. It seemed more even than the Bruins one.

But LA have not gotten dominated. They have played some really solid hockey.
I'm not surprised LA is pulling upsets. Well, I wasn't surprised that they did it versus Vancouver, I never thought they'd sweep the Blues that seemed so dominating themselves. That was an absolute surprise to me.

But the Caps are not on the same playing field as LA right now. They aren't playing as well at all.

I really don't care. No one should have to end their career that way.

Man, Henrique is so good.

Also, pretty iffy play by Giroux on Zubrus.
