Yes, maybe he's just a bad pick, getting bad advice, or his "handlers" don't think the program he's in is right? Maybe he can't manage the coursework while trying to master his hockey skills?
What school did Kovalchuk, Kopitar, Benn, Neal, Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Hartnell, Nash, Iginla go to?
If there is no correct answer, why would leaving be wrong?
All of those players are LEGIT. That's what they have in common.
I was responding to your "pretend PF's" comment, which was ridiculous, and completely false.
I think he probably wants to take a shot to make the team. Everyone should see opportunity with this mess. If he doesn't crack the roster, he'll go play the longer schedule in Oshawa.
I believe he can play all three forward positions and was drafted as a center.
I don't really have an opinion on which league is best for Biggs' development; each league has its merits and flaws. As long as Biggs' wants to play in the NHL he'll make it, regardless of the league. I'm fairly confident that Biggs will play in the NHL one day, likely as no more than a third liner, but still.
I thought Burke said he wanted the option of the first two round picks to be able to play where the drafting club wanted them to(ie AHL or CHL etc). Maybe this is his circumvention of the CBA.
Seeing as VanW27 has made it clear McKegg is not a centre, this line would work, IF we want Kadri to be a centre. As an organisation though, we've played him exclusively as a winger though have we not? Also, I want to pencil Kadri in with the big club for next season but clearly he's gonna really have to get stronger (again) this summer to do that.
From what I've heard, he's a longshot to be in the bigs as a centre at this stage.
Perhaps the Crecenzi suggestion isn't such a bad one for the 3rd line w/ Marlies next year. Don't forget, Sam Carrick is also going to be starting his pro career next season & he's coming off a terrific year w/ Brampton. I suppose it'll depend on our depth down the middle in the AHL & there's every chance he might do an overage year w/ the Battalion. Devane will be w/ the MArlies next year though!
MArlies will be pretty hard-nosed by the sounds of things. Looks like Rosie will be on his way out.
Kadri has way way way better chance of being a center in the NHL then Crescenzi or McKegg have of being NHLers. The line I suggested is a bit small, (oh the irony) but has 2 players who can play a bit bigger than they are. But I anticipate Kadri will get a chance to play center without having to be a primary scoring threat, play great defence, chip in a few goals and eventually move up.
With Grabs and Colborne and a need for a #1 center, Kadri won't play center unless it is 3rd line and with a need for some size in the top 6, Kadri may not get a chance there for a while.
Good point, I think he'd be better suited had he stayed in the NCAA for another a year or two then made the Leafs out of camp one year.
Too bad 18 year old players in the NCAA don't get nearly the opportunities they get in CHL.
Age restrictions in NCAA versus CHL make a difference in opportunities.

using his big frame to create space and his skating ability to find open lanes to drive the net. He stands 6-3 and is a natural goal scorer with plenty of confidence.
He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.
Colborne, hmmm... he sure is looking like he needs at least another season.
Hopefully we can remain patient & he'll develop!!!
If we draft Galchenyuk, sure, he becomes an asset we might use in a move.
You mean when we draft Yakupov OR whomever goes #2...Im telling you this pick we have is as good as gone unless A) we move up or B) we Burke can't land a our #1 center B1) or land one of the big Fa's
You can bet that Burke is not going to sit tight anymore, this is his job on the line, at the end of the year he said we do NOT have the personelle to get it done, and that obvious. He also said he is very impatient and very mad that things went so far south so quickly....guaranteed we will pick higher then 5th or we will trade it.
Kadri will be in NHL this year or GONE---i think he will be packaged in a trade
Burke wants to get better, as quick as possible Kadri is best prospect besides Colborne so Kadri goes bye bye ! Which is great because big joe had just has many pts in half as many NHL games.
I know Kadri will be great in the NHL eventually just dont think it will be with us
