Matt Carle--9 minutes of ice time in the 1st period. No other player on either team had more. Most aren't even close. I'm starting to question Lavvy as a coach.

We wouldn't be pinned in our own zone if Pronger was healthy.

This team just doesn't have those role players like Lappy needed for the next rounds. Sure this is a sexy roster but a bunch of finesse players. Where are the gritty hard working guys? That bang bodys on the forecheck and skate hard every shift. Jagr is slow and is completely useless out there right now. Sure he is a big body but has he used it?

Schenn needs to start blasting guys in the corner. This team is uber soft. They cannot win board battles. 5 on 5 they are getting dominated.
Gus has been garbage clearing the puck. He never gets it out.

I think we played one great game and that was the closeout game. I mean what can we do in the off season?

guys it's only 2-2. Jersey is just outworking us right now. It's as simple as that. we've got to start scrumming it up all over the ice. get the juices flowing.

Bringing back Rinaldo does nothing. He'll play 5 minutes in the first and second and then sit on the bench for the third.

Also, not only do we need to upgrade our D, but we have to upgrade our forwards defensively or the forwards we have currently have to get better.

I'm pretty sure that line didnt have an even strength point in games 1-3

Who the hell is he suppose to put out there? Sadly Carle is one of our better defensemen right now.

That's what everyone's been saying since 7 minutes into game 2...and nothing has changed. Why should we believe it will?

Jagr would hurt that line more than he would help. The guy is out of gas. He should be playing 4th line minutes.

I've said it all year long, this team plays best when it's pissed off and there's high emotion. The Devils don't do anything after the whistles really. It just doesn't have the same animosity as the Pitt series and it shows in the Flyers intensity.

As much as I hate him...

Kimmo is injured... and apart from him Carle is our best puck mover, hence the inflated ice time.

He cannot handle the physical hard forecheck.

Gus is too soft. PL is such an idiot to even have him in.

You couldn't play worse than Carle. Anyone would do.

Hopefully there is gas left in the tank, I hope they can dig deep and play like animals in the next 2 periods, the Flyers are lucky it's tied 2-2, if anything else come out nasty as ****, engage these guys and I'm sure they will break, hit them, then hit them again make them think twice about getting into the corners, please let's at least not go out like *****es

I haven't seen the scrums at the end of play that these flyers are so good at and gets them into games.

I'm just saying it's not as if any of the other combos have been more effective. That line played so well through the season, why bust it up now?

The Flyers had 6 shots on goal at even strength, and Carle was on the ice for 4 of them. Also only allowed 4 shots.

Yeah, Carle is playing really bad tonight. Guys are sneaking in on him, and he can't even clear the puck out of the zone. Instead, the puck gets either to the Devils player on the boards or Grossman, who has even less time to clear it.

The NHL and refs essentially killed all of that after the first round. Too much extra curricular activity.

The Devils aren't interested. They're dominating 5-on-5 so there's no reason for them to engage.

They had a whole ****ing week off, that shouldn't even be close to an excuse. The Devils have played 4 OT games in their last five games.
