Samuelsson looked really good last night IMO. He was positionally sound and aggressive. He skates really well and threw a nice check. Moved the puck well. Broke up a lot of plays with his stick.

The only negative I would really paint on him is that he's very thin. Definitely needs to put on weight if he wants to transition to the NHL.

+ Tangradi scoring goals in the playoffs.
If nothing else it leaves a good impression that he actually can do so before the off-season.... and in case we **** up and trade him, it sure can't hurt his value.

I haven't seen Samuelsson enough, but my impressions match yours.
I think he definitely is an NHL Defensemen eventually. Where he caps out we'll see but he can definitely skate well, like noticeably better then alot of other Defensemen on the baby pens.

I think Shero should re-sign Williams, Picard, McDonald and O'Reilly for depth and AHL success.

None of those guys will want to resign except for maybe McDonald. They have already seen that their chances of making the big club are zero.

Yeah I figured that would be the case.

I know McDonald wants to stay, he said that.

Williams and Picard signed, I'm sure they knew they had little chance to make the team.

O'Reilly wants to be in the NHL so I don't think he signs with a team where he will be an AHL player.

Yeah, I'd go to Europe or a team with less depth if I were Picard, Craig or Williams.

I think you'll see one or two vets back.. maybe McDonald and Mormina, but that'd be about it. The baby Pens will be laden with prospects next season.

I'm watching the WCs and I'm really impressed by Matt Lasch. He tore up the NCAA and has played in Europe the last two seasons.. Maybe he'd accept a one year, two way deal to try and crack an NHL lineup similar to Pesonen a few years ago. I'm not sure he'll be an NHLer but he'd definitely torch the AHL.

Or at least 10 rows up. You could see it coming with the head of steam Tangradi had after he dumped the puck in. Great hit.

If he hit that hard all the time then Bylsma would love him.

Watching that stream, Desprays looks very fluid and Tangradi has been extremely physical. The scrambling in the defensive zone towards the end of that OT looked familiar.
