Yeah, something like that.

If the Caps know exactly who they are going for and need every cent to load up to the gills, ok, trade him. Otherwise, I'd retain him. He is quality depth and can always be traded later.

Lock him up on another 2 year deal at $1-1.25 tops IMO. No reason to get rid of him. I think he's got room to get better still honestly.

Too small and doesn't fit into Hunter's system.

You can overlook the shortcomings in terms of fit when there's a center shortage and he's cheap. That should not be feasible much longer. He did an admirable job stepping up when Backstrom was out but he'll be arbitration-eligible and he's not a very good fourth-line center fit.

How would he fare against the Kings or the Yotes in the playoffs?

I bet you $5 Bergevin would overpay severely for him.

I thought the consensus was that he's likely not playing because of injury, not because of Hunter. Has that mindset changed?

I was unaware of that consensus. He was going full speed at practice on Friday. Looked perfectly healthy to me.

Probably because broken fingers don't impact skating?

He was stickhandling, shooting, passing, and taking part in drills that involved cycling and checking.

He wasn't limited in anything.
