That hit on the Gatorade cooler was the hardest hit he threw all year

Last I heard it was still on IR. They've brought in a back up.

Eh... we shall see. Parise has been everything in these playoffs that Dubi has not been. The guy looks to be back to his pre injury beast mode. If there is anyway to make a UFA pitch at Parise... if Dubi's the odd man out. So be it. He's had every opportunity to make himself indispensable to the core, but I don't see it.

At the end of the day the assessment of our beloved Rangers remains.

Great Goaltender

Great Defense

Great character, heart and hustle

Need more scoring - translated any way you want... better pp... better top 6 ... more skill...

Whatever... this team adds some more genuine consistent scoring and they are LETHAL.

I still don't believe Parise is the answer for this team. If this team gets knocked out before the ECF, it's time to bite the bullet and make a smart hockey trade. Prime asset for some of our guarded assets. Might be a smart play regardless of how we fair this year, to be honest.

Only knock on a Parise signing is that he is a former Devil. Gomez, Driver, Holik, Sykora, Cirella, not sure I want more exDevils. Shanny is the only exception...

i also don't think parise fits what we need. nash is a much better choice, but 8mm + assets is a joke.

BUT parise is the best thing on the market

Parise is going to hit the jackpot this summer. The Rangers don't have the room for that type of contract with their current commitments and future commitments. The CBA is expiring. The rules are going to change but no one seems to realize that.

Everyone knew Gomez was overpaid the second we signed him. We also knew he wasn't a big point producer..

Sykora was a sniper and that's it. Nobody expected too much outta him.

Driver signed here towards the end of his career. He had 37 points his first season here too...

Holik wasn't a bad player for us either. Guy produced 60 points his second year here. The team was in shambles when we signed him to that stupid, stupid contract..

Parise is in his prime, and twice the player that every one of the former devils we signed. Zacks a contributor even when he's not scoring. He's a "sure thing". Still not quite sure how we can afford him though...

I prefer Parise. just watching his work ethic/drive in philly series is amazing. Like a much, more skilled version of Callahan.

back to OP...any new/rumors on Dubinsky? I'm thinking with no news, its likely to be less severe - maybe return for game 7 vs caps, or early in ECF <----entirely speculation on my part.

I'd like to see a deal with Dubinsky and Paajarvi as the center pieces.

31 pts in 40 games for sykora. Why exactly was he a bad choice?

No. The kid can't even crack the OILERS. He needs to play in the top 6, because he's unwilling to be gritty enough to fit elsewhere. We won't have room for him.

Dubinsky, on the other hand has been a big disappointment when I thought he was going to spring forward in the playoffs.
Stralman v. Rozsival is a perfect comaprison. Only difference is Rozy was a #1 defenseman w/the Rangers and Stralman is #5.

I think that is as much a reflection of the improvement in the Rangers D corps as it is anything.

Rozy was much more consistent than Stralman. Steadier. I can see the similarities in their games, though.

Seriously though........we all know Dubi can play and clearly is a better "scorer" than he has shown this season. Sometimes you have years like this. I def wouldn't give up on Dubi. He WILL REBOUND next year nicely. Only knock/negative would be his contract. Time will tell what happens.

In other thoughts......I firmly believe Parise is exactly what we need.

Geez I am so eternally done hearing the carping and moaning over Dubinsky!! What is wrong with you Ranger fans? This kid is like a workhouse out there, functions as a two-way player (yayaya the scoring is off this season and the salary cap blahblahblah), and is a diehard blue-bleeding Ranger who's having an off year offensively. I could understand the whining if he was lazy and stupid, but that's truly the last thing you could say about him. Every professional athlete has his slumps--and not every player is Marion Gaborik--oh wait--not even Gaborik is Gaborik!! Enough is enough already. In the section where I sit, the fans love Dubinsky because they watch him give it up for this team every home game. Half the complaining you hear about the guy doesn't even make sense. Makes ya wonder! Root for your players people!!
