Yeah Giroux made it sound like he was retaliating for some Volchenkov hit to Simmond's face but to be honest I've now heard 3 or 4 different reasons for why he hit Zubrus so who the hell knows.. Watch the interview if it's online because he definitely reference something Volchenkov did and no one else is talking about that

There really is only one reason and not a good one...frustration.

maybe this is a good thing - when the team effort is so poor that the best player on your team is frustrated enough to get suspended, that means it's time to PLAY.

inspiration?

So most likely Couts or Wellwood will be moved up.

Zero prior history. 5-11 and didn't leave feet against 6-5 player.

Same suspension as guy who ha prior history, had two headshots in one shift, and jumped. One less game than a guy who threw a guy's face into the glass.

Just going to throw this out there. It's a fair suspension in isolation, but after what I witnessed in the Pens series, it's absolute horse-****.

Yeah well Shanaban has been thoroughly brutal with setting examples early on so NOW players are paying the price for his past inconsistency.

Weber should have been suspended to start the playoffs, he wasn't. Crap job, I wouldn't want to do it but that said, you have to try to have some consistency.

Neal could convince Shanny that his hit on Coots was an accident, did G not play that card? lol

And Shanascam continues to show how arbitrary he is with his decisions. Bush league with a one eyed king/czar of "player safety."

Unanimous roars of excitement broke out in Newark just now, causing more power outages.

The NHL is a friggen joke.

2min plus a game for a clean hit. Scott Stevens and Kronwall are laughing like maniacs somewhere.

Star player is out, team dresses 7 D-Men, turns the series on it's head. Where have I heard that before?

I agree with the suspension, but it's still a joke that Neal was only suspended for one game with two isolated incidents on the same shift. If you account for histories and outcome, Neal should have either gotten more or Giroux less. But, this is what we have come to expect from the league with worst disciplinary staff in the world. They really have no clue what the hell they're doing.

I do struggle to understand how nothing happens to Kronwall after his hit on Voracek and Giroux gets suspended a game here. That's without even going into Neal and Malkin.

Right? At least for us, we have 1 game won going to game 5. We can win another.

I am actually feeling more inspired by this now. I think Jagr and Hartnell will play with an edge bc of this.

When your best player gets frustrated enough to get suspended, your team needs to rally.

Didn't seem like Giroux targetted the head but Zubrus sure sold it as such. Seen much worse with no hearing or suspension; not sure what Shanahan or the NHL are selling here but it's sure inconsistent to the point of almost chaotic.

No I am saying there is a reason why the yotes and devils are this far. They know they have to play as a team to win. Lose your best player it changes the game plan to more of a team mindset. Probably sell out to defense 5 guys back and get chances when we can
