You are kidding yourself, if you think Bettman will be encouraging Wang to lose millions more, while local pols act as if there are 10 yrs on the lease, instead of 3 yrs,act as if the County pols have not made and broken verbal promises.

Bettman:Charles you've claimed to have lost between $150m-$200m on the Isles.
There's no progress on a new arena.Open your checkbook. What's another $5m-10m in losses?

I Actually hope this both does and doesn't happen, I think the Isles will offer

Niederreiter, Hamonic and 4th overall for 1st overall, hope they do so they make space for Yakupov and give one of Niederreiter or Strome a chance with the Oil, cause NYI has too many young wingers such as Grabner, Moulson, Kabanov.

I also think these could be good lines with the NYI

Moulson-Tavares-Grabner
Yakupov-Strome/Petrov-Kabanov

I think that the Oilers should draft one of Dumba or Murray with the 4th overall cause they just need D, thats all, and then they should just shut up and make the playoffs

What was the topic for this thread again. When politicians enter the trade thread it's time to lock and load.

no because Edmonton have enough AHL defenceman.

HAMONIC is the Isles #1 defensman and hes only 21....People need to stop including him in these trades....

being in the AHL when your a 20 year old defensman in your first pro season does not make you an "AHL" defensman.....

He will deff be in the NHL, only question is will he be a top pairing offensive defenman or a bottom pairing one.

Absurd. But what's equally absurd is the idea that the Isles are even considering trading Hamonic to move up 3 spots in the draft. They're not. So enjoy Yakupov, Oilers fans. Isles will either trade up to 2 if they love Murray or just take the BPA @ 4 and get on with the rest of their summer. (Which will last about 3 hours and involve little in the way of roster movement, but still..)

I'm all for trying to improve the roster. But Hamonic is as untouchable as Tavares. So it you put his name in a trade, your trade is automatically dumb.

I think the Isles need the best defenseman available more than anything. I don't understand why they'd want to do this.

Sorry, but you are crazy:shake head

The 4th overall, Dehaan, and a 3rd rd pick is more then enough for the 1st overall.....

Perhaps Grabner...and his speed on Oilers ice...

isles not giving up strome or harmonic....or jt

I think you should stick to arm-chair managing your own team, and maybe tell THEM to shut up and make the playoffs.

Where do these turd proposals keep coming from? Oh yeah...other teams fans.

The Oilers will be taking Yakupov in the draft...deal with it.

Maybe so they dont actually come across as insulting to the Islanders for asking for their best/franchise player and one of the best young stars in the game for a complete crapshoot in Yak who may or may not be something that they already have?

Anybody who thinks it takes Tavares, a true franchise player who is the face of the Islanders, and the player their franchise is building around, to get a first overall draft pick, and actually thinks thats decent value, needs to give their head a shake. If this was actually logical, and the Oilers did want Tavares, which they dont, there would be alot more going the Isles way then just the first overall pick. Reality needs to creep into the equation.

Edmonton: John Tavares

New York: 1st Overall Pick

The Oilers get a marginally talented center, while the Isles build towards the future.

In other news, the SKY is FALLING!!!!!
