Capitals @ Rangers ECSF Game 5

We won 2 playoff OT games in the same season for the first time in 15 years. And it seems like it took us this long to score 3 goals without playing a double-header! We still haven't scored 4 goals in 11 games.

Pretty easy call on the three stars. Even without their goals, Richards and Staal were the Rangers' best skaters.

maybe players shouldn't try to block every shot...let the goalie see it instead of deflecting it. it does more harm

Well... I've got nothing so I'll just say holy *****. Can't complain in a game you outshoot the opponent 36-18. PP was the obvious elephant in the room all night (0-3 with 0 shots going into the final 30 seconds...) but a PP goal to tie it (technically, at least) and the winner kind of make hard to use that stat if you're just looking on paper. Still PP is the problem that needs to be fixed. I thought we would win tonight and take this series but escaping by the skin of our teeth is obviously not part of the game plan. Let's end the series more convincingly.

TRUE STORY

I am friends with Marc Staal on facebook...I asked him 3 years ago if he was going to work on his offensive game, specifically his slap shot.

He responded..."You bet I will"

What can I say? It's the Canadian boys that step up come playoff time. Richards' clutchness in the playoffs makes his salary worth every penny. Good on Staal for the GWG! I'm a Leafs fan, but I'm pulling for you guys here. Onto game 6!

Did not see this turning into a win especially after Prust was tripped and then one of the Caps d-men closed his hand on the puck next to the net. Another poorly officiated game on both sides, Staal could have gotten a can opener penalty and Hank playing the puck in the trapezoid. So much hooking and holding, when Del Zotto's stick was being held and the ref just constantly getting in the way.

That being said they managed to pull it out, amazing that they didn't quit. Richie is my player of the game, how he scored that goal through 2 people was UNREAL!

Lets finish this out in Game 6, NO GAME 7.

Props to Mitchell on the faceoff win for the GW, now only if our PP could go to the net and create traffic every game...

I can't even remember the last time I was this euphoric. After game 7 last round, I was pretty happy, but mostly just relieved.

I have to work in the morning and I have no idea when I'll be getting to bed
