Let's just hope this loss demoralized the Caps (it def had to) and we get the win in 6.

Hey Chip, I think I'm on to you, maybe that perverse reverse psychology works

Either that or you simply will never be known as the life of the party

The Rangers controlled this game and were unlucky to be down 2-1

When you have a goalie stopping everything, you don't try to be to fine with your shots. You throw the kitchen sink at his head and crash for rebounds.

That pretty play BS gets the Rangers in trouble.
Pretty much all the shots were perimeter shots. Even our goals, save for the jam by Richards were on the perimeter.

The Rangers controlled the game in the first. But they didn't control the game in the last two periods. Unless inflated time of possession stats count where we cycle endlessly down low.

When did we crash the net for rebounds save the Richards heroics? We don't even set up effective screens save for the Staal goal.

BTW, this game reminds me of the first round series that Chicago played against Nashville in the year they won the cup. Chicago was down 4-3 with like 10 seconds to go and Kane tied it and then Hossa won it in OT. They then won game 6. The rest is history.

Egh, Hunter seems like a half decent guy. I'd have a beer with him to help him get over the loss.

The difference being that Nashville was the team on the powerplay in the last minute. Marty Erat tried to score instead of just flipping the puck back to the point, turned it over and Kane scored.

I find myself liking Dale Hunter a lot. Comes off as a very focused and calm guy.

Total 180 from his playing days.

Hunter may be an okay guy, though Pierre Turgeon might disagree.

That's controlling the game. That's what we do and I would rather have the puck down their end of hte ice even if we don;t score.

Time of possession for a puck possession team IS an important factor.

The Richards line cause all sorts of havoc in front of the net off the cycle.

28 FO wins to 21
29 hits to 14
63 shot attempts to 28

There's not one aspect of this game aside from Holtby somewhat outplaying Lundqvist where the Rangers diod not control things.
