What can I say? It's the Canadian boys that step up come playoff time. Richards' clutchness in the playoffs makes his salary worth every penny. Good on Staal for the GWG! I'm a Leafs fan, but I'm pulling for you guys here. Onto game 6!
We'll need all the help we can get for game 6. Our guys need a little time off and hope for the NJ/Philly series to go seven.
Wow. This is one of this rare moments in Ranger fandom where it is all worth it.
If nothing else I am thrilled that I don't have to let all of those missed 2nd period opportunities haunt my entire summer.
Three stars seem obvious to me.
3. Hank - *he made a few key saves to keep us in it, especially early.
2. Richie - I was going to say that is what he was brought in to do, but I can't imagine anyone expecting what we just saw. Beyond the goal I thought he played a strong overall game.
1. Staal - AKA Stall, Mark, Eric, what have you. Beast of a game in both zones. Had a slip up or two at the blue line but man he made up for it.
As happy as I am, gotta admit this is still a tough task. Credit to the Caps for playing great defensive hockey. They kind of remind me of the Rangers in that you can dominate for long stretches but still leave after 60 scratching your head as to how they outscored you.
*It ain't over yet, by a long shot. My money is on another game 7.

Never thought I'd say this in my life - honorable mention in the poll to JOHN MITCHELL.
And, please, someone give some props to Dan Girardi - he was an absolute tower of strentgh defensively out there, especially as McD looks a little tired and gun-shy from the Caps running at him constantly.
Can't even describe what the reactions were after the two goals at MSG. They were goal celebrations like never before. I could try putting it into words but it wouldn't do it justice.
I'm amazed. I just got home and I feel like I'm on ecstasy right now. This could be a team of destiny. MSG hasn't been this loud since Rozsival's 2OT winner.

Exactly how I feel. That was the best game I had ever been to and this just topped it. This was the Drury game in 07 except reversed, amazing how many similarities there are at the end from the low seeded team on the verge of taking a 3-2 series lead home against the 1 seed only to give up a late goal to the game ending early in OT on a PPG off a shot from the point. Amazing.

My sentiments exactly. Completely ****ing elated. Pure joy.
1st star is hagelins face....takin one for the team.
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yes. The home team's logo is on one side and the NHL logo is on the other.

I'm guessing its the one with the mom and daughter crying in the Verizon store talking about Skype and GPS. Its awful.
How ANY LIVING SOUL could have watched even 50% of the previous playoff games for us this year and not know this is beyond me. What Verizon commercial? The Verizon commercial that qualifies for most horrendous commercial in human history.
Just watched the replay of the tying goal again. For like the 10th time. Was watching the reaction behind the bench from the fans and I saw Fatcessa. I don't like the guy, and he always comes off as an arrogant *****. But...if only for a moment...I had a moment of softness for him. He was screaming and yelling and was genuinely excited as hell. I know he's a bandwagoner, and I know he's never been and never will be a true fan, and yes, he's still an *******, but he was one of us tonight.

You have to forgive Snowblind. During commercial breaks, he is busy stabbing his Lundqvist voodoo doll.
I hate to be a debbie downer but man the first 10 minutes of the 2nd period and the entire 3rd period sucked for us! I'm just glad Richie is the man and saved us from embarrassment.
But there were some GLARING issues tonight... I'll try to list some that I remember.
1. Our breakouts SUCK. The problem here is puck support. Our forwards skate up to center ice and don't stay low enough, leaving our defensemen with less options to make an outlet pass.
2. Power Play. I really don't know what the deal is here. Seems like it's indecisiveness with the puck and a lack of movement mixed together.
3. Not enough offensive creativeness? Idk... this may just be me. But it seems like we don't know what the hell to do on odd-man rushes and during prime scoring opportunities. I can't say this is a problem 100% of the time, but it is apparent a lot of the time.
/end negativeness
**** YEAH! WE'RE UP 3-2! Let's put this series away on Wednesday!
