Wilson is not assuredly gone. He barely shaves, just barely legal to drink - in other words, still a raw kid. Not saying I oppose the kinda' deal you're proposing, just saying I don't believe it's foregone conclusion he's gone, and given that, it won't be as part of an overpayment.
This is probably why i'm looking at is as a Win for the Preds.
Although it has potential to be a HUGE win for the Bruins down the road.
Of course it does, but I just think its a win-win. I also think we shouldn't underestimate how much Ference would help our blue line. If the Preds lose AK, Rads, and Suter, we will need help if we want to make the playoffs, and, RIGHT NOW, Krejci >>> Wilson and Ference > Ellis. Long term? Ellis will be better. But the preds get better today.
Pulling this thread back up because I have a new plan based on a trade Boston fans just agreed to on the trade boards.
I'm assuming AK and Rads are gone
If suter wants out: Krejci+Ference for Wilson+Ellis+Suter's rights
Sign as UFA- Carle (or Kubina or Grossman or Wideman, take your pick)
Roster still with almost 6 million left to sign more wingers...which would need to happen. Badly.

As a Flyer fan I can tell you, Carle will be looking (and may get) 5M+ per year. Behind Suter, he might the one of the most sought after D-men this summer. He is not worth that type of money. He isn't a PP QB, he doesn't have much of a shot, he's basically a nothing special top 4 NHL defender (closer to a #4 than a top pairing guy). He doesn't have size and gets pushed around way too easy. Makes a ton of mistakes in his own end. I pity the team that signs him to what he wants, Ville Leino comes to mind.
Also, the Flyers have already extended Grossman so he's off the market. You could probably get Kubina, but the question would be, why? He's on his last legs and can't skate. The Flyers are starting a rookie (Gustafasson) and Lilja over him in the playoffs. He's about as done as they get.
Definitely not. Seguin has never really played center and he's terrible in faceoffs, so it's not worth the risk for Chia to gamble on him centering the first line. Bergeron isn't good enough for that role either. With Horton close to becoming the next Savard, you won't see us trading a big name forward.
