I have a Vapor X2.0 in 6.5D and X7.0 in 6.5EE
I had a width problem on my left foot with the X2.0 if I tie the bottom laces tight, I won't feel pain if it's not tightened. (nothing wrong at all with my right foot)
So by that logic, I thought that an EE width would solve my problem then I bought the X7.0.
Apparently I was wrong, I'm in a lot more pain with the X7.0 because the pinky finger on my RIGHT foot is ultimately pressed against the toe cap. And this is straight out of the box, won't help if I loosen the laces either. And yet, now there's nothing wrong with my left foot!
This really baffles me, because by measurements my left foot is supposed to be wider. I've measured in 2 different shoe makers just to be sure (left foot is 0.2cm wider on the pinky finger). Hence, I can understand my problem with the X2.0.
Additional information:
- Both skates have the same size of footbeds
- The X7.0 definitely looks wider
So I'm guessing the x2.0 and 7.0 has a different fit? Both skates' heel lock fits perfect. So I guess I'm now looking for a pair of skates that will fit similar to the Vapor, but with more volume on the toe cap. Any suggestions?
They should fit similar, being Vapors and all. The 7.0 being a high end should feel different obviously. So it's definitely the toecap problem and no where else? With all the issues you have had, it might be worth it to go on vacation and pick up a pair of skates somewhere haha.

Well, aside from the pain, the 7.0 feels awesome, it's incredibly light and i can get a lot more speed with very minimum effort. Wow to technology, I'd say.
I'm 99% sure that the toe cap does not have enough volume. You said something about this too if I remember correctly.
Yeah, I'm going to Malaysia on the 28th and I heard they a have shop there somewhere. Hopefully they have some high end skates I could try.
I don't believe they did mass distribution and was more of a specialty product. On a related note, I'm probably going to grab the new RS skates this summer! I'll see if there are any MLX inspirations haha.
Had my One 60's baked over the weekend, skated in them for the first time Sunday night and the heel is still a little tight. Any tips on how to loosen that up or just keep skating in them?
Try a different (maybe thinner?) sock, rebake if you want at the expense of slight durability or just let the heel break in and see if it's better after a while.
I have the One60's as well, and I put up with a tight heel so I can keep a good heel lock. As long as it's not giving me blisters or otherwise making me uncomfortable, I like not having my foot slide back and forth.

Yeah that's what I was going to try to do, I've only skated in them once so I expected some uncomfortableness.
My Reebok 12Ks arrived yesterday. I liked the fit and think they are keepers. The boot isn't as stiff as my old Supreme One60s, but the fit is much better.
Curious if anyone has baked Reeboks. I've read where people have with no problem, and where people have had lots of problems.
Given that the boot isn't as stiff as what I'm used to, I'm not 100% that baking them is a must.
You can bake Reeboks or I would've mentioned something otherwise. Just be sure to deflate the Pumps beforehand as the air inside expands due to the heat. Do not inflate them while they're on your feet after coming out of the oven either.
Edit: which reminds me, I'm going to tweak the Baking section sometime today, stay tuned.
Yup. Top-end skates I'm sure of. The rest of the line...don't know, they haven't come in yet. Also can't compare to Nexus yet as they are not released.
Is the difference huge? I kinda love Bauer's stiffness, and never tried any Reeboks.
If the difference in stiffness is huge then I'll probably go for the Supreme line first, the guys in icewarehouse said it would fit more similar to Vapor.
The 12Ks aren't as stiff as my Bauer One60s. Based on what I was able to see the 12Ks were one level up from the bottom of the barrel in the new RBKs. I was originally looking for 6Ks, but couldn't find any in my size. From everything I read the 12Ks are the new version of the 6Ks.
I haven't skated in them yet, I will tomorrow morning.
