Out of curiosity, when was the other time we reached the conference finals? I thought 1993 was the only other time, but you say we made it three times (including now)?

Good article. Glad to see TM getting his props, but at the same time players acknowledging what he did wrong and what TM did right.

How does the cup names work for coaches? Does TM get his name on the cup if was are forntunate enough to win it?

No ****ing way. That would be like putting Jack Johnson's name on the cup.

Gagne wouldn't get his name on the cup either, unless he dresses for a game in the Finals.

Kings will probably give Gagne and Murray a ring if the Kings win the cup.

Murray won't. Michel Therrien did not have his name on the Cup when the Penguins won in 2009. As far as could it? I know there's an appeals process where players and staff can get their name on should the people on high agree with the reasoning but not sure if that applies to fired coaches.

Johnson's not in the organization anymore. Murray still is. There's a difference.

Gagne, the team could make a motion for him to get one, like Boston did with Savard last year, and Gagne's played more games than Savard.

Gann is probably referring to 1969. There were only 8 teams in the playoffs then and then we beat the Seals to go on to the Semi-finals.

Do pro scouts get their name on the Cup? Murray is still part of the organization as a pro scout.

I don't know if the scouting staff gets their name on the cup, but they absolutely get Stanley Cup rings. I have a feeling the Kings will petition for Gagne and the league will approve given his history with the NHL. Either way, everyone will get a ring other than Jack Johnson, obviously.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to, but since those weren't called "conference finals," I decided to correct my story.

Thx for the great article:

I noticed the Kings becoming more aggressive in the forecheck slowly but surely after Sutter was hired (including have two forecheckers instead of one), their shot totals increased,

but they needed time to know how and when to become more aggressive and they did in the last month or two, and the Dmen started to join the rush and became more offensively-minded,

but especially in the playoffs.

I was disappointed they didn't play better against the Sharks in the last two games of the season,

but they regrouped like a son of a gun in the early playoffs, fulfilling my hope that they would get hot just at the right time,

cuz I/we all knew the team had underachieved most of the season,

Kings beat the Coyotes in 6 games,

Go Kings Go !!!!!!!!!!!!11

I don't practice Gannteria
I ain't got no crystal ball
Well I had a million dollars but I
I'd spend it all

If I could find that heina
And that Sancho that she'd found
Well I'd pop a cap in Sancho
And I'd slap her down
