the only thing he turned was towards the bench in OT, as he glided & watched his man make the game winning assist.
at least Gus [a rookie] skated hard to the bench on the change, while Danny coasted.
and Beef established it was a weak goal by Marty, not a great goal by Danny Boy
Danny still made it happen though. It wasn't Marty's shining moment, but it's not like Marty picked up the puck, turned around, and threw it in himself. Briere deserves some credit; instead, you pervert what I said and try to use it to remove credit. That's a pretty dishonest thing to do.

until it came time to praise Danny & use that to counter the criticism Danny got for the awful change.
at least we now can say this about the game winner:
Ponikarovsky still made the OT winner happen though. It wasn't Bryz's shining moment, but it's not like Bryz picked up the puck, turned around, and threw it in himself. Ponikarovsky deserves some credit.

poni made it happen as well. It was a difficult play to bang bang tap the rebound up over the goalie.
Bernie Parent 1974, you're being ridiculous, and I mean absolutely ridiculous. Take a step back, and look at how unobjective you are. I finally finished watching the game, and was expecting a horrendous effort by Briere, but I don't know if you noticed, he was actually the one that cleared the puck from our own zone after the Devils being there for a long while. Yeah, he didn't skate as fast as he could towards the bench, but who gives a crap, really?! It had nothing to do with the goal, and even if play was established, the Devils weren't there with all five guys, so the one that got on the ice in the change would've probably made it to his own zone safely, as well. The change itself was bad, but to look at Briere and chastise him for this is ridiculous.
Even in general Briere wasn't not even close to bad on defense in game 3. I actually paid more attention than usual to this now, and he made several good plays, and always battled for the puck. His effort on that Larsson goal in game 2 was putrid, and I fully blame him for that, but other than he did not play worse on defense than the rest of the team did.
I mean, if you're trying to match hckyplayer8, go right ahead, but just know that you're no better, you're just picking a different scapegoat.
Couturier's line is used as a shutdown line. It's not really a fit for Briere.
Yeah, not this season. We can't really touch that shutdown line right now. If we can get another defensive center Couturier and Briere could possibly work well together; they both have offensive skill. Worth a shot next season.

They could work well together if we had another capable shutdown line. I think it's hard to shelter Briere with the way this team is currently constructed.

Yeah, we'd need to bring in some other defensive forwards. I don't know who's available and affordable.

Or if the 3rd person on the line was also good defensively
