I agree, but he didn't turn to it in the playoffs until, what, the fourth game? I think getting Franzen with almost anyone who plays a simple throw it in, bang some bodies and go to the net game does wonders for the big guy.
He dropped him back there for a game or two during the regular season.
Rinne is as elite now as he was before our series. We're taking 10 games and overhyping 5 of them and being too hard on him for the other 5. He's a very good goalie who appeared elite because we were too lazy to go to the net and score on him. Phoenix did and scored. Rinne didn't look overly great against us, just like he wasn't overly bad against Phoenix. First two games maybe but Nashville wasn't used to a crease crashing team. Maybe they got so used to Chicago, Detroit and Columbus not doing it that it hurt them. Who knows, but Rinne isn't elite. He's very, very good but he's never been elite. He goes as his defense goes, like most goalies.
