NHL now saying Richards goal was officially with 7.6 seconds left, although TV showed 6.6 at celebration. 7.6 was time of next faceoff.
They should have just made it 7.7 and awarded us the Cup since it would have killed every demon that exists in this organization.

Not until the Caps are vanquished.

thank you.

i don't post a ton but like reading the commentary here. but one of the few very annoying things is the sub-sector of posters who constantly worry and complain about who's the better fan. 'go to hell everyone who gave up' or calling out specific posters cuz they were critical or, god forbid, lost faith in the team...it just isn't compelling hockey talk. it's...catty.
maybe there should be a separate section where posters can one-up each other and determine who's the best and most appropriate fan. also, the huge generalizations about fanbases is dumb. sens fans are dumb...caps fans are arrogant...really?
let's just talk hockey. not about ourselves and other fans.

my two cents...peace.

Slightly OT...but what's with the "delayed penalty" yellow banner that appears on the screen just before the Richards goal?

Mid 3rd on NHLN now...Hope we can tie this up.

Anyway, hearing the Garden erupt like that after we tied it was just awesome. Seeing Richards jump into Callahan's arms was a thing of beauty as well. I can't imagine what it felt like to be at that game.

There was a delayed penalty..it got wiped out cause the goal was scored.

Are you sure? Watching the replays I don't see either ref's arm up. And if that were the case wouldn't we still get the power play because the 1:53 left on the first minor on Ward would have been wiped out for scoring the goal?

No, that's just someone screwing up the banners on the broadcast.

If there was a delayed penalty then we would've started OT still on the first of the two minors assessed to ward.

A goal doesn't cancel out a delayed penalty AND end your current power play.

Gotcha, I was thinking cause it was a double minor it canceled it out. Then I got mixed up between major penalties and double minors. My mistake.

Nah, if you watch closely you'll see random banners pop up for a second and disappear all the time. Or it'll say delayed penalty instead of empty net, then switch to empty net a second later.

The broadcast is done live (obviously), so someone's pushing buttons to make the little banner pop up, and if they hit the wrong one or hit it by mistake it shows up on screen immediately.

Guys...did last night really happen? One of the best come backs I've ever seen. I know what kind of comeback I'm hoping for at the dying moments of a loss.

I disagree with your opinion, although I do understand what you are trying to get across. I was the one who brought up this initial point earlier in this thread because it pisses me off how many people post stupid things during the game like "this team is terrible, got lucky to be here", "not a first place team", "richards is a crap when will he earn his paycheck", "im done with this team, we cant score goals"

These are the stupid ass comments that make me post during the games to tell people to shut up and find a new team if your going to rag on them every time we are losing. Part of the game is battling and trying to come back when down (which the Rangers do very successfully), yet whenever we are down we suddenly have "the worst team" in the playoffs somehow.

Luckily there is an ignore list so that sort of works as a way to ban some of the more ignorant posters on this board.
I am a member of many forums (sports, politics, tech and so on) and never used the "ignore" feature. It's entertaining to see what people are thinking.

The phone camera shots from the crowd of the tying goal are amazing. i wish there was footage of the marc staal goal too... but ive only found footage after the goal was scored. MSG was going nuts.

You can add Game 7 against the Devils in 1994 where the Devils tied the game with 7.7 seconds.
