I think I'd rather dress 7 Dmen. Lilja hasn't been horrible like he usually is, and I think Mez needs to be eased in and Carle needs to play less.

Everything in this post is the exact opposite of how my brain works.

Why? bandwagoners will always annoy me and every other hard core Flyers fan who stay and bleed and die til the end. This aint over yet. Things can change on a dime. i've watched more than enough hockey to know that little fun fact. One punch to the head of somebody and its a new series.

Our D has been brutal this series, but they will never take out Carle before Lilja...in case you haven't noticed already; our organization has a serious man crush (Did I say man crush? I meant love affair) with Matt Carle. On top of that, Carle scored a goal in this series, so aside from everyone in our management filing for divorce against their wives to make themselves available for Carle...there will be no line-up changes involving him.

Oh and Carle knows how to skate you can't say the same for Lilja

I just donít see the season ending this way. I donít feel it ending this way. This team was too good last series and most of the year to just crap out in the 2nd round like that. These last 3 games have been gut wrenching to watch and painful in every sense.

If you want to raise the cup you have to go thru moments like these. You just have to. Itís the ultimate sacrifice. This team needs to put a 60 minute effort here in front of the fans and if they do they are going to find that renewed sense of purpose to bring back to Jersey and tie this thing up. Too good of a team to just crap out like this. Letís go!

Lilja has really struggled this series. He looked good against the Pens but REALLY slow against the Devils. Looking at the TOI, can see Lavy trusts Gustafsson over Lilja which I think is the right choice.

You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but... God, I hate Jeff Carter. Talk about a player who always leaves you wanting more and never rises to the occasion. Charmin soft, too. He embodies so many qualities that I hate in pro athletes.

Damn Carle frustrates me more than anyone else on this team.
Looks like he has a decent slap but rarely uses it, has awesome skating ability and usually a good first pass. But makes the most idiotic clearing attempts and brainfarts on D coverage more often than not. He has potential, I wish we had larry Robinson on our staff to tinker with him a bit.

OK, I know it's cool to hate on Carle, but he's definitely been better than Lilja this series.

Imagine if we had a healthy Pronger and Meszaros in the lineup! No Lilja, no Gus.
Pronger Timonen
Coburn Grossman
Carle Mes

Everything else remaining the same, we'd be over the cap.

Imagine if we were able to fit all the best players in the world into the salary cap. Imagining this is for suckers, you play with what you have. And I'm also not sure we'd be that much better off, we might have just been in for an even greater disappointment. One thing that I think is pretty much for sure, though, is that healthy Pronger = no Grossman.

If we had pronger this whole season, playoffs, match ups everything would be different. We built our entire team around him to give us a good 2 to 3 year window and it was completely destroyed in a matter of weeks. sucks. It's tragic. but i'll be back next year full force believing like i always do. but one day, maybe one day it'll all come together and i can die in peace. but jesus its takin forever.

I truly believe that NJ are not this good. They just blindsided you guys with their aggressiveness. Hope Bryz has a good game and you win. Good luck.
