Yea I saw it live. It was funny because when it happened I was like "What the ****" and pretty much hopped out of my seat in shock. But almost no one else in the arena reacted. I guess it didn't seem as bad as it really was, but it looked super bad to me.

He basically got hit on the numbers, face went forward into the boards, bounced off and he froze for a second (he might have actually been partially unconscious it kind of looked like it) before falling to the ice.

The guy that did it wasn't even thrown out and I wonder if part of that came from the fact Ashton actually got up and tried to fight him after being on the ice for a few moments.

They both have good potential we just need to bring it out.
Are you trying to coin a new phrase?

Of course I'll be watching I never miss a Leaf or Marlie game or a game with a Leaf prospect in the lineup. How else would I be so Knowledgable.

Here's the scrum from last night that got Ross ejected. This Portland/Edmonton series is going to be awesome the final few games. Don't like tossing players out when both fights started at pretty much the same time.

Yeah, maybe he didnt get booted due to the fact the game was over, which is lazy because he should've been ejected and subsequently suspended. It was a dirty play, and I hate to see a player not be able to play because of something like that. Hope he has a full recovery, ya never know with these concussions...

I wish I could grow a beard like that. I really hope D'Amigo is a part of this organization for a long time, you can tell how much he wants to win out there.
IF you have twitter, mesage him @JerryD91 and tell him to hit up @Sportschirps and make a #feardabeard shirt.

sports chirps already extended the invite to him, but he won't respond.

Helps a charity out, so i'm sure with more people's support it can happen.

game wasn't over, it happened near the end of the 2nd. i was there too. check the box score. Biega assessed the penalty on the play but yea it was really dirty, i had a good view on it and like you said he hit Ashton square in the numbers

edit. the play you might be thinking about at the end of the game was a boarding by the same chump Biega but it was on Scott

Tuesday night is game 4. As long as Root Sports Northwest is covering again, I'll provide a summary.

You're right, he had two similarly controversial hits that went under the radar. I remember being surprised Scott was ok, another blatant attempt to injure in my mind. If EITHER of those hits happened in the NHL, we're talking multiple game suspension, especially on the Ashton hit due to his injury. The AHL dropped the ball here.

I guess he's not on the clear day roster, so he's not eligible to play.

Also, anyone seeing a St. John's vs. Toronto Calder Cup final lining up?

I'm not going to look that much ahead but we're up 2-1 in our series and St. John's is up 3-1 in their series.

That would be pretty cool.
