Well bp has become the official #1 bryzgalov fan. Grats. I didnt think it was possible to defend it but you somehow did. Ill give ya credit. Defending a play where ANY GOALIE IN THE LEAGUE needs to save. Kudos.

Unless Bryzgalov/the team pulls a rabbit out of a hat and wins this series (not likely) I bet Snider tell Holmgren to do something about the goaltending situation. Moving Bryzgalov is likely impossible unless he wants to go to the KHL.

Ugh.

Maybe we could get a better goalie, too.

Good period from Bryz. Nice response to the awful goal he let in.

1 goal, 3 goals, 2 goals, 1 goal scored in 4 losses.
the poor defensive coverage.
NJ's shot per game skyrocketing against the Flyers.
the ineffective PP, especially 2 PP in OT.

the ONLY Flyer to show up for games 1 through 4 was Bryz. arguably a top 3 Flyer vs Pitt.

yup, all on Bryz because he let in 1 awful goal when his D man fed him the puck under pressure.

pin 1 loss on him, out of 4 & it's his fault we lost the series.

Bash-A-Delphia at it's finest.

Say whatever you want about Bryz he played well enough for the Flyers to win this series.

He played good games 1-4, but he didn't play well in the first period of this game. At all.

That's obvious but one period does not lose a series.

This series was a team loss. Bryz had a middling .905 SV% in the Flyers 4 losses in this series. The Flyers were outshot in every loss.

In my eyes, the biggest problem was Flyers puck movement / puck management vs the Devils forecheck on the back end.

As I said elsewhere, Bryz did not come close to being the rock in net this team has searched for, not this year. I hope he's much better next season.

Bryzgalov is being paid 6mil and can't win games unless his team scores 3 or more goals.. the guy sucks.

Bryz needs to be better next year.
The defense (both defensemen and forwards) need to be better next year as well.

Not only that, but I hope people eventually realize that Bryz didn't doom the team this series. The team playing in front of him got dominated to the nth degree for almost the whole series.

Meaningless stat. The quality of those shots were high. People wishing for Quick and Smith and even Lundqvist should watch a few more of those team's game. Those goalies face a fraction of the quality chances that the flyers give up.

Again, take Quick away and the Kings aren't in the Western Finals. He's the best player on that team.
My god, I've seen some stupid comments about Richards here today but this takes the cake. And how dare Carter get injured! So are you going to talk about Kimmo's penchant for getting injured? What about JvR? And I'll have to assume that Simmonds and Voracek were injured vs the Devils because they didn't do much of anything.

Take Quick away and you still have Bernier who is a very good goalie. Now if you take Quick, Brown, Richards, Kopitar, Doughty, Mitchell and Greene away, you have a big problem. The differences between them and Philly start and end with the commitment to team defence. If you can get through the forwards you're dealing with solid defence. If you get through the defence you have a wall in net. You also have a coach who isn't getting outcoached by anyone. And if you think for a minute that Richards isn't a big contributor, you're either not watching or you don't understand hockey. He and Carter have been penalty killing together and are usually on the ice for the important face offs late in the game. The Kings don't score a ton like the Flyers had been, but they went from 2 goals a game before the addition of Carter/subtraction of Johnson to 3 goals. That's enough for them to win most games. The rest of the way, the defense does the work.

If from March to now is any indication (excluding a couple games against the Pens), I think he'll be alright.

I still wouldn't mind Ed Snider walking up to Sean Burke's front door in July with 3 suitcases full of Benjamins and a contract...

Bryz goal two wasn't good, he should have eaten it. They still scored 2 to our 1 otherwise.

This is what I don't understand but I think I know what happened. Bryz is colour blind. No wait, he is colour blind AND legally blind because he must of thought the Devils logo was actually the Flyers'.

The play Timonen made is not at all unusual. The play Bryz made was also not unusual...for him.

The entire rest of the season before March, the Pens series, and the shaky stretches during games in the NJ series don't fill me with hope.

Especially considering we have 8 more years of this and he's a year older. It's not like he's 25 and hitting his peak.

Patrick Roy used to do this crap from time to time, obviously, hes the best goalie ever...so he made up for it.
