Nah. They're just more magnified in these past few years because their offense, which often covered up Manuel's errors, has gotten progressively worse.

As for Papelbon last night... 2 things seem to be "culprits" when closers have bad outings: rust and non-save situations. Papelbon was thrust into the game with both. Not making excuses, but maybe if he had a little more work lately (but that would require the offense doing something, since it's taboo to use the closer in a tie game late on the road with this club, even though not doing so is basically saying "yeah, we lost" with this BP) the outcome would've been different.

Man just read Rizzo's comments...I wish Cole would of commented back "You mad, Bro?". What a butthurt baby. "he doesn't know who he's messing with"...yeah some loser that couldn't accomplish more in his 30 years of baseball than cole can in a single inning.

They are expecting Utley aback in 3 weeks and according to Stark his knees are much better than last year expecting him to be a more productive hitter.

here is more of a better update, this home stand ends next Tuesday, not sure how long he will be in Florida for but I think he was there for a little more than a week last year. Maybe he can take the rest of the team with him to work on the fundamentals .

Yeah. I'm still not going to get to hype. I'm still excited for this news.

All of this, but especially when it comes to Utley.

I don't think Schwimmer is that bad, I think he has potential.

Maybe with regards to this bullpen, as basically everyone outside of Papelbon and Bastardo is terrible. I guess I would call Kendrick decent. But I never want Qualls pitching at CBP if possible. Contreras looks finished, as I thought he would be a dependable arm out there. Im not ready to give up on Stutes and he it is unfortunate he is injured, as is Defratus. RAJ needs to upgrade the bullpen it seems.

Bastardo even hasn't had "it" consistently. Papelbon needs to be left out of TIE games, he has NO fire in those games. If you want to work Papelbon let him work 2 innings in save situations.

I think Stutes will be fine when he comes back, IMO.

I agree to an extent, however he needs any work he can get imo and with our bullpen we really need him to come in and get us through some tie games.

But the thing is Papelbon doesn't have the same fire.
