Don't think he's coming back.

Sounds like some kind of sprain or fracture/break.

Anyone think that the PK has suffered without Dubi? I remember in the Ottawa series when Cally and Dubi were together on the PK, they created a lot of offense. I haven't seen much of that at all this series.

regardless of his injury status, Dubi would be a lineup plus going forward in playoffs.

Forward Brandon Dubinsky did not skate and was still limping noticeably after an off-ice workout. He has been on crutches, wearing an ankle boot over his right foot, since sustaining a lower-body injury late in the Rangers’ Game 7 victory over Ottawa on April 26.

The PK has been horrible against Washington, and it definitely has to do with the absence of Dubinsky.

Dubinsky is an effective forechecker and great on the PK. Remember what happened before the deadline when they swapped out Dubi for Stepan on the PK? Yuck. The quicker he heals the better. Hopefully next round if we get there.

I don't understand why the rangers don't just give an update on his injury.

Why should they if they don't have to?

Yes our PK has definitely suffered without him. We also are missing his overall feist. HE would definitely go after Hendricks the way he's been running around. We're a physical team but Dubi has an edge to that physicality most of our guys don't.

Game 7 of Ottawa-NYR was April 26. Meaning it's now been 2 weeks since his injury. By Saturday it will have been 16 days.

I know the reports are that he hasn't skated, but stranger things have happened than a player unexpectedly returning for a game 7.

Any chance this could happen with Dubinsky?

Wouldn't hold my breath if he is limping without being in skates.

We miss his energy regardless of whether anyone on here will admit it. Even if he doesn't PK, he is a fresh forward that can eat up minutes, is not a defensive liability, and is really hard to knock off the puck. We truly miss him out there. He would go after Hendricks and Ovechkin.

Think we have really missed him. It has forced Artie and Boyle to play together, IMO these 2 guys can't be on the same line with the lack of speed.

dubi isn't faster than boyle or anisimov as far as i can tell. he's not a mud-skater, but he's certainly not a really fast guy.

definitely a big loss to the team right now though. hope he's just got a sprain or something and can play next round, but i don't have money on it.

At 19 he may have been rushed into the NHL by an young Oiler franchise. IDC if he spends a year in Hartford, the kid has legit skills and speed. I wouldn't quit on MDZ last year as a 20y/o and I sure wouldn't quit on MSP as a 20 y/o struggling in the NHL either.

Torts stopped using Dubinsky on the PK in February. He has seen limited time on the PK in the 2nd half of the season. Who knows what's going to happen with Dubinsky? The Rangers gave him a 4 year contract 9 months ago so they like the player. He had a terrible season. The free agent market stinks so more teams will look to change their rosters with trades. He is still a valuable player.

He is a valuable piece that we certainly do miss in this series . I hope we have him back for next season...he will come out like gangbusters next season after a Summer of reflection on a season lost . He is a great team guy and I suspect well liked by his team .Never underestimate team chemistry...and Dubi is a big part of that !

not sure why fans dont think Dubi could of helped. The guy has alot of talent and can get goals on solo efforts. It also hurts the depth and means a guy like AA has to step up. He did 1 game. Boyle did the first 3 games of the playoff

I am still not sure why Torts decreased Dubi's role on the PK, it was one of the few things he was excelling at all season. Once Stepan took Dubi's place on the PK in February, the PK wasn't as effective. The PK was at its best in January with a 92.3% percentage, there was no need to mess with it.

Rupp or Mitchell are the obvious choices. Rupp IMO makes more sense, but Kreider has made him look good lately.
