It seems like the flood gates are opening with stories of previous management and how incompetent and disliked they may have been. Lots of little nuggets.

Kipper's contract is almost done. He wants to be a starter, when Kipper leaves he'll come. Price wasn't leaving.

Even though that deal doesn't include an out clause, Ramo can envision a scenario where he wouldn't spend all of next year with the team.

"I can't leave right away, but you know things always change," said Ramo. "In the KHL especially."

Quote:
Ramo says he would relish the opportunity to play behind countryman Miikka Kiprusoff, who has made at least 70 appearances in seven consecutive seasons

Quote:
Ramo expects to speak with the Flames about his future once the world championship wraps up later this month, but his intentions are clear.

"I'd like to go back there at some point and battle for a NHL job," said Ramo.

He's just saying IF the possibility is there, he would take it.

The opportunity has yet to present itself.

What sucks is even when Habs win a trade, they threw it away...

Maybe if we had a 34-year old Miika Kiprusoff and not a 25-year old Carey Price, he might have "relished" playing back-up here.

How is this news? When we got him, he basically said he wanted a chance to be a #1, which would not happen behind Price.

So we traded him where he would be behind an older, and fading Kipper, of course he sees his chance now.

When we watch Ramo as a number 1 in Calgary what did we get in return?

He wanted to be a #1 goaltender. He'd never replace Price, no matter how good his stats are in the KHL. The only thing Gauthier did wrong was include Ramo's rights into a package. Trading those rights alone could have landed a solid prospect from a team in need of a goaltender.

Karri Ramo: 2013's Radulov, coming over at the end of the season to lead the Flames to the Cup

Except...

Calgary won't even make the playoffs next year.

I'd take Mike Smith right now over Price , wouldn't you?

Do they all need to be thoroughbreds to get you to a cup?

I know Ramo would never come to Habs, cause the former managment of the Habs would make sure of that.

To just toss him away for scraps , so dumb.

I would take Price over Smith. Last I checked Bryz looked awesome under Tippet too. Although, that's not fair to Smith who has been excellent this year but I trust the upside and although younger, believe it or not, Price is much more proven.

Mike Smith got the Phx Coyotes into round conf finals .....he wasn't just a goalie who's team was carrying him either.....He's a huge reason Yotes are where there at right now.

I don't care the draft selection number....I don't care about hype .

End of day it's about results......

Until that happens, you should only keep it in the back of your mind.
Ramo is not even close to being a #1 in the NHL as of yet.

Let's get Cedrik Desjardins back too!

Mike Smith is having success in the NHL now.
Ramo is in the KHL.

Until he actually comes over and performs, your point is more than just moot.
