Pretty sure he first became injured in March; in the playoffs it seemed clear back in the Pitt series that something else was wrong because he visibly lost a lot of speed.

He had to have had some sort of knee injury, that's for sure. You could see his mobility was limited, which is tough because so much of his game relies on positioning when dealing with larger players. What a tough guy though, hopefully the team next year rallies behind him and gets him a cup if he decides to come back.
The injury report over the next few days is going to get very ugly from what I've heard. From the guys I talk to, it's expected that up to 11 players on the roster are going to require surgery. The worst are going to be Timonen, Grossmann, and JVR. In JVRs case, there's a possibility of having three surgeries performed this off season (his groin, his hip and a sports hernia). As for the rest of the guys who require surgery, this is what I've been informed so far:

As soon as Bryz got his game together, he gets hurt and ****s his lateral movement. Typical Philadelphia...
JVR, Timonen, Grossmann, etc. are all warriors. Would really just like to see them all get healthy for next year. Looks like we won't be trading JVR if he's going to have multiple surgeries ...
I have some family that play minor league ball in PHO area. He said some of the PHO plauers he knew thought Bry had a bad knee or hip (nothing long term) that didn't allow him play himself into shape like he normlly did.
Hopefully, he comes back healthy next season and plays like we thought he could.
And there goes his trade value! He hasn't even started his 6 year extension yet.
why trade him now anyway? his trade value is at its low point after an injury filled season. Let him come back and have a healthy year atleast so he some value in you were going to trade him.

The Flyers need his skill set as well. JVR will more than likely be Giroux's winger opposite Hartnell next season. They need him to be a finisher and allow Hartnell to be more of a net presence. If they work, that line could be one of the more dynamic lines in the entire league.
Flyers medical staff have been questionable as long as I can remember. It's a big issue, imo. Or at least it should be.
I've never seen an organization suffer from injuries as much as we seem to, historically. I'm not sure if that involves the med staff at all, but I'm sure there could be something there...

are you kidding me and people were ripping on him for playing ordinary. who knows how long its been like that. poor guy always gives his all
I don't think anyone was ripping him for playing poorly. I just think this confirms what most of us have been saying, the guy is not capable of playing a full season anymore. Sooner or later, age catches up with all players, and now its caught up with him. I don't know why thats a controversial opinion all of the sudden.

There was speculation early-on in the Pitt series that he was having a hip problem of some sort.
Side note: medical staff HAS been in question for years now. Also, what about our strength and conditioning folks? Groin pulls/injuries have been a repeat in this organization more than in any other that I can remember in recent years.
there it is, they didn't let Voracek go to championship
finally its making some sense why half of team dissapeared... half of them need surgery ..
kinda hard to fight 2 enemies, injury and opponents :s
