GAA are strictly a team number, unless you think the goalie is responsible for every goal that goes through him.
Sv% is what you should be focused on, and Ramo's best North American number is .906 (the rest are all under .900) and that was in the AHL.
He has good numbers in the KHL, but that's quite irrelevant as it doesn't mean he'll perform as well here, as we've seen so many times happen.
Patrick Hollad already told us he doesn't think he will make the NHL....

In his AMA on Reddit he said in response to a question that since he's a 7th round pick, he's a longshot to make the NHL.
I can't even imagine how Habaneros chose to interpret that...

Hamrlik has done a remarkable job.
Meanwhile Gill, who apparently was Conn Smythe worthy for us, was utterly useless for the Preds.
I still can't believe how some fans preferred Gill to Hammer. One of the biggest mysteries to me.

Sorry to see Hamr's playoff run end but the general consensus I believe amongst Caps' fans is that he was a stud during the playoffs and during the last two thirds of the season.
Gill was the well spoken North American with some corny jokes to tell. He said all the right things. Hamrlik is more straightforward and not North American thus the preference of Gill over Hamr.
IMHO it was the beginning of the end for Gauthier when he re-signed Gill and let Hamrlik out in left field waiting for another contract. Good on Hamr for leaving and shame on the fans and media who still criticize him despite the Canadiens' tumulteous season without him.
Hamr essentially did the same thing this year for the Caps as he had for the Habs the past four years - anchored a D actually younger than Montreal's without its number one d-man in Green. As for the Habs - they ended the season the same way as the year before Hamrlik arrived - missing the playoffs.
I'd take Hamr over Kaberle any day of the week. And essentially what Gauthier didn't want to give to Hamr is now Kaberle's dough - and more. LOL
