SJ goal is on Leduc, IMO. I can't really check again, since they didn't show a replay of his lack of backchecking.

Can't wait to throw Beaulieu-Subban over the boards late in games when we're trailing.

Forget the Philadelphia model, let's follow the Saint John model.

Their model has looked a lot better after drafting colossal bust Matt Stoddard in the 1st round. Honestly, I went to school with this guy. He couldn't even dominate carnival hockey.

Too many goals SJ could use a Jack Martin to slow down the scoring and work more on defending

8 - 0 Dogs deep in the third. Who is the Caps scout in Russia?

Galiev with 5 points. 1 PPG player regular season, close to 2 PPG in the playoffs.

European Scout Vojtech Kucera
European Scout Petri Skriko
European Scout Mats Weiderstal

I would imagine the two Slavic ones are their Russian scouts.

I wasn't a big fan of Galiev at 20-25 (where he was usually ranked) but for a 3rd round pick he's a steal.

Sad thing is, they didn't even need a Russian scout...he's been in North America for ages.

I wonder how much influence cultural bias still has on professional scouts and GMs.

Judging by what I read here, the rank and file fan is often predisposed to a seedy and ignorant attitude based on nothing but prejudice.

Ironically, I remember when Harold Ballard referred to the initial influx of foreign players in to the NHL as 'chicken Swedes'. What makes it doubly ironic is the Leafs best player in that era, and the first real foreign superstar was Borje Salming.

I would have thought since then there have been enough HOF Europian players to quash that stereotype.

The kid had some injuries during the year ansd was not playing on the top line during the playoffs.

I saw him last year in the Playoffs. he was dominating. Same, during the Memorial Cup.

I'm sure Florida would not trade him to the Habs for our top pick this year only.

He has excellent skill but I question his durability, he is rail thin and gets pulverised at times even in junior. I would take Galcheyuk ahead of him.

He's had great playoff numbers(but so has their whole team), but regular season is pretty underwhelming...84 GP 50-34-84. Will be interesting to see how he does next year AHL.

I'm not saying he'll be a superstar or anything but just that I find it hard to believe GM's and scouts think there were 83 better prospects to choose from before his name was called.
