If Vlad makes the team and lasts into the late season, I'm making a trip to Toronto in August.

That .290 average still looks good when you look at our lineup. Look forward to seeing some AB's from him.

I'll be surprised if Vlad ever puts on the Jays uni in a big league game.

He's going to go to extended spring training then will probably play a few with Dunedin the head to Vegas for a while and only then if he shows he still has anything to offer will he get a call and I'd expect it ti be August by then.

Vladdy doesn't have the knees anymore to play in the field. Especially on the Rogers Centre turf.

Have you seen how badly we've hit this year..this has all the writings of Lind becoming a platoon player, Vlady will DH, Edwin to first, and Francisco will probably be traded or released. There is a very good chance Guerrero puts on a Jays uniform, Lind can't hit a Lefty if his life depended on it, we can't consistently have him batting like this it's a great low risk high reward signing.

Like I said, the process for Vlad to go through to even get to the point of being big league ready is so far down the road that the problems with Lind will have to be dealt with long before then.

Also I can't see them going to a has been like Vlad before going to Travis Snider.

Yes they will lol. What's the point in signing Vlad if they're just going to go to Snider first? I'm telling you if Lind doesn't start hitting on a consistent basis which he hasn't done for over 2 years now, they will make roster moves. This team is in a playoff spot and Vlad whether he's ready or not would be more productive than what we've seen from Lind so far.

Just like to add, they've been in discussions with Vlad for a while now, if they had any thought of going to Snider anytime soon they wouldn't have such long conversations with Guerrero. Snider will spend most of the season in Triple AAA.

Having Edwin at first to take over for Lind and having Vlad at DH has the potential to be a very deadly offence. All of a sudden 1B would look pretty good from an offensive standpoint.

Because Travis Snider has trouble hitting lefties too.

He does, another point is that Snider has never had a full season at one level, he's always bounced around so maybe the organization is letting him properly develop and get his head focused on one level at a time. I really don't see him being called up anytime soon.

Can't hurt, rather him the Manny the headcase. It's a total low risk move, nothing to lose with a vet of his pedigree. I'd take his .290 over the putrid Lind.

And Vlad NEVER strikes out, as everyone knows this guy has the biggest range in the game. He'll hit a ball off the ground if he has to.

First time JAYS poster (arn't I proud)

anyways i like the vlad signing as long as he doesn't mess up the lineup keep him in the minors.... Im with Zaun on this one don't want Edwin out at first when hes hitting so well at DH and would rather have lind in the lineup than in the minors

(although trades would change this opinion rather quickly)

Pretty cool that we signed Guerrero. If he comes up, we'll let him get on base then use Davis as a pinch runner to combine the best of both worlds

Done and done haha.

He'll be a nice addition, but I'm not expecting anything more than a bench bat.

Some of you guys are out of your mind if you think Vlad is playing a position other than DH or coming in late as a pinch hitter.

I saw this and I doubt it means anything right now, but it concerns the Jays.

I was being serious, both Sanchez and Nicolino have been stellar don't get me wrong, but obviously the longer you go into the games and you go through the line-up more than once teams will adjust, remember both Nicolino and Sanchez were piggy backing eachother, one would go 3 innings the other 3 innings. Now that they are starting to go into 4 innings and 5 innings teams are getting a second look at them. I'm not saying they're trash, they are two of our top prospects.

This is where the whole 5 year policy that AA and the team have is going to kick us in the ass. Hamels is going to get at least 6-7 years and $100 million as a free agent, hypothetically let's say we get him, we're going to have to give up Gose, D'Arnaud and something else for 4 months of service unless we are granted a negotiation window. Pretty pricey if you ask me. But on the other side he would immediately put our rotation in the top 2-3 in baseball.

Also..From John Paul Morosi:

"The Nationals and Angels have had preliminary discussions about a trade that would send center fielder Peter Bourjos to Washington, major-league sources told FOXSports.com.

The Royals, Diamondbacks and Blue Jays also have checked on the availability of Bourjos, sources say."

Maybe CF isn't as settled as we thought...or it could be AA just checking in as he usually does on every player. He's being blocked so he he's been riding the pine lately, 2 starts in the last 12 games.
