I tought a gold package was a top package (first rounder package)? My understanding was you could only have a number of them.
Your allowed to have 7 gold packages over a 4 year time period. Once a player signs an NHL Contract, the packege is off the books. Guys like Yuill, Ekblad, Camara, have them, Lepkowski may too.
Lablanc wont be there this season. There has never been a player buy out of the US program. I don't see him being the first.
If Shore comes, its only if he signs an NHL contact.
Perlini will get a Gold packege, as is the standard.
Perlini has a gold package. Garcia may be given one as well I am not sure. Lepkowski does not have one from what I've been told.
As far as Labanc goes...I understand that noone has ever been bought out. But I know he wants to come to Barrie and isn't all that happy in that USNTDP program. And barrie wants hime. Its all coming down to where to find the 50K to buy him out.
Scott could slot right into our top 6. I know guys r skeptical on here about his stats but if u would have watched him play, he was an impact player in JR A as a 16 yo. That is not easy. He's ready.
Let's not forget that to get Lemieux here, a gold package is necessary. (I still very much doubt he comes)
I'm guessing with Lemieux's money that Packages are not the main negotiating issue. And with Lemieux's name and connections I'm guessing Brendan will be playing Pro or Semi-Pro somewhere so the school package would be moot IMO.

it isnt moot, because if he comes, he will get a gold package...and then we have that counting against the 7 for the next 2 years....
As far as Lemieux is concerned his deal with UND I believe is something that majority of educated folk would NEVER turn down. Program has turned over many players on to the SHOW and other Pro hockey programs. Schedule is better than other typical NCAA programs, facility is out of this world amazing and it's currently in the #1 Conference. Although there will be some re-alignment next year in that area where 2 strong Conferences will emerge. No, I've spoken with Claude many times and have made my opinion clear in that he's done the best for Brendon's future.
It seems clear that UND is his most likely destination for next year. He would not have been a 4th round pick if that had made his intentions known that he was going to the OHL. Having said that, I'm not sure the majority of educated folk would never turn down UND. Scheifele turned down Cornell just two years ago, and the last time I checked that school's reputation is as good as it gets. No college program turns over players to the pros like the CHL. I would think if he goes there it will be because he wants to experience being a college athlete. It's probably an awesome experience, but I'm not sure it is the surest way to the pros.

A tender is not a huge deal...he can walk from it....
If he's signed the tender though, what brings him to the Colts? I presume the gold package is a given...and that the money isn't a huge issue anyway. Does he wait to see how next year's team shapes up?

He does not have a high interest in the Colts to be honest. His only focus is Green Bay and UND.
I don't think a gold packege would make a difference.
Marcel Fatovic, Colts 11th round pick this past April, selected to attend final Ontario U17 camp in Cornwall in July! Final OMHA camp was held this past weekend in Oshawa. Nice.
There are some rumblings in Colts land of late. They are close on a few things...look for Sutchy to be moved, just no OA room here....doesn't sound like Buffalo will be signing him (stupid, imo).

Hmm have you PetesFan94? - Maybe Peterborough? For a 94? More likely a 93, I would think...
Greg has to be moved, but I'll be sad to see him go. Injuries and misuse didn't see this last season turn into what it could have been...still when everything was on the line against Ottawa, he was scoring playoff goals in the 2-3 minutes a night he could muster...he'll be a good pickup for someone...and hopefully the return helps the Colts.
I'm really amped about 2012-2013, and especially 13-14.

Not many 93's or 94's off the Petes roster that would be very appealing for you guys unfortunately. I was asking because I do think he would be a good fit in Peterborough.
I really have to watch what I say....unfortunately,
I just know that the possibility of a lockout is reallllly muddying the waters this summer. People aren't ewntirely sure what to do. June 1st may be more quiet than usual.
I think you will see a lot of teams with 4 OA's on the roster leaving camp. Put it that way.
As far as the Colts are concerned, they have a deal in place. Nothing huge. They also have a few other irons in the fire. They have eyes on 2 russian kids for the import draft too.
