1) Confidence
2) Quickness
3) Decisiveness
4) Discipline
5) Resilience
6) Speed through the neutral zone
7) Clear the zone, don't regroup behind the net unless they're changing lines
8) Del Zotto swagger

If we score 3 goals, we're winning.

In fact, i'll say this- if we score 2 goals, we'll win.

Keys to winning game 7

1)Get traffic in front of Holtby.they made it so easy on him in game 6.the 1 time they do get bodies in front, they ended up scoring off a lucky deflection.get there for screens, deflections and rebounds, make him WORK.

2)SHOOT the fkn puck on the PP,PLEASE.passing it from point to the boards then watching 2 caps force that player to cough the puck up while clearing it down the ice doesnt work.you have an extra man on the ice,get the puck and fire it at net, dont get fkn fancy with over passing.if they block the shot,so be it,but at least attempt it.

3)Give McD some PP time.i like Staal, but he cant rush the puck up the ice like McD can.none of our defenseman can.we NEED a defenseman whos able to actually carry the puck into the zone at times.they are keying on Richards doing it,and hes coughing it up more often then not.

its a game 7 Torts, time to unleash the kid and lets see what happens.

P.S Get Mitchell off the 2nd unit pp too.You got Kreider and Hagelin in the lineup, give them his time.

If you think Torts is going to change anything other than minutely you are dreaming . The NYR only hope is either one of the ham handed plugs scores or the big guys step up .
They haven't Played 95 games or whatever the same way to re invent the wheel in the potentially last one .
Benching Kreider was a mistake but torts ia willing to live with it . He rather not risk givIng uP a defensive advantage than adding an offensive one .
If NY is even able to score a goal in game 7 , which at this point is looking highly unlikely , its going to have to come from those he trusts .
This was a crazy season but once again the lack of scoring has reared it's ugly head . Heck the lack of being able to generate anything outside of a cycle is reAring it's ugly head .

1994 and below is a whole different era from today's NHL and in reality, they don't relate to each other at all.

I think more-so what he meant was we've recently lost twice to these folks and they undeniably have more talent than us. Now that it's a 1-game series, anything can happen, and most people's odds would be on the team that can score more goals (since that is the object of the game).

It won't be easy, but we'll get it done.
Rangers haven't given us any reason to believe they won't win.
They have been resilient all season.

Whatever happens happens. After 13 playoff games, I don't know what to expect anymore.

All I know is that the last two deep runs by the Rangers ('94, '97) were fueled by the Rangers best players playing their best in big games.

Gaborik, Richards, Callahan and Girardi need to have the best game of their lives

Game 7 relies on the Rangers confidence and their stars. We all want to see Kreider bust out and score a bunch of goals, but he's not the guy we should be looking to for offense. Richards, Gaborik, Callahan, are three guys who need to play well and produce some goals.

Can't count on the offense to provide much of anything. We'll have to win this one 1-0. Hopefully Hank is up to the task.

Don't forget the last game of the season. Caps win 4-1 in a game that put them in the playoffs and stole the President's Trophy away from NYR.

Historically, they've won the games that count. Time to rewrite history!

It's a big ask for Rupp with his 5:37 TOI/G average. I was one of those people saying he would be a clutch player in the payoffs, as he was in the WC, and just cannot understand why he's not playing.

I've seen some good play from Fedotenko, but agree that it would be nice if he could add some offense. He's overdue, if that's worth anything.

Then we won't get very far. I agree we can't count on the offense, but they need to score. Our D and Hank have looked good for the most part in the playoffs and I feel the team has the same thinking but you can't plan to win 1-0 if Washington gets 2 goals.

I feel like the Garden HAS to be rocking. The team needs some help to finish out this series... Confidence is everything, and if the Garden is in that critical mood, it's just not going to work. Has to be an overwhelming level of support. Hurt the Caps' confidence and make life tough on them.

I honestly believe that we will know within the first 10 minutes of this game who will win it. Maybe even the first 5. If the Rangers come out like they did in game 5, they will win. If they come out like they did in game 4 or 6 they will lose.

I don't agree that this game is all about Henrik. Just the opposite actually. You know Henrik will be good, but this game IMO is on the offense. It would be nice if the offense can get a 2 goal lead and take some of the pressure off Henrik for once.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic that we'll have a strong first period. This team is getting some much needed rest right now and I think they'll have fresh legs right of the gate. The rest of the game, I'm not too sure.

Just get it done, I don't care how. I want to be watching Rangers hockey come June.

LET'S GO RANGERS!

This season, the Rangers always stepped up when it rally mattered. We've won all the important games. This is going to be a tough test but I'm confident that this team will pass- once again.
